This alert gives notice to residents of the South Chicago (004th) District of two recent robberies both of which occurred inside a chain restaurant. In each incident, the offender(s) entered the location and approached the counter as if attempting to make a purchase. Fugitive Apprehension Unit officers were provided the arrest warrant which charged an offender with the murder of a 9-year-old boy.
About This Crime:
• On November 19, 2015 at approximately 8:16 am, a 9-year-old female was walking in the 8800 block of South Buffalo, when she was approached and pursued by an unknown male offender.

Tarell Smith,28 was arrested after he was identified as the man who shot a 23-year-old female on October 29, 2015, at approximately 3:05 a.m., in the 12000 block of S. Perry Avenue. Smith was involved in a domestic-related altercation with the mother of his children when he shot her with a handgun. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported in stable condition to Christ Hospital. Smith was arrested and charged accordingly. Click here for more information.
This alert gives notice to businesses in the Morgan Park (22nd) District of three recent Burglaries to Businesses that occurred in the Beverly neighborhood. In these incidents, an offender used a pry tool to force his way into businesses on Western Avenue between the 10400 and 10600 blocks. The offender emptied cash registers and searched the property for cash. The burglaries occurred around midnight.
Brandon Young was arrested and charged after he was identified as the person who fatally stabbed a man on October 31, 2015 at approximately 12:25 a.m. on the 7800 block of S. South Shore Dr. Officers responded to a call of a battery in progress and discovered a 43 year old male in the hallway on the 2nd floor with stab wounds to the head and body. The victim was transported to Northwestern hospital where he was later pronounced. Young was identified by a witness and was placed into custody and charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.
