This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 015th District (North) of an increase in Armed Robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of April.  In these incidents the victim, while on the internet, connects with an unknown subject who requests to meet. This alert addresses Armed Robberies that have occurred in the 011th District. In both robberies, the victims are robbed at gunpoint on the street after exiting the CTA Greenline.

Incident times and locations:

  • 200 block of N. Kedzie on March 24, 2015 at 1:20 am.
  • 200 block of N. Central Park on March 25, 2015 at 8:30 pm.

 Offender’s description:

  • One offender is described as being a male black, unknown age, 5’6″ – 5’8″ tall, approximately 180 -190 lbs, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and a mask covering his face.
  • The other offenders are (3) unknown male blacks.

This alert addresses several residential burglaries that have occurred in the 011th District. The unknown offender(s) enter apartments either through the front or rear door. They enter unlawfully or by use of force.

Incident times and locations:

  • 1000 block of N. Avers on March 25/26, 2015 between 12:50 p.m. – 2:15 a.m.
  • 1000 block of N. Kedvale on March 27, 2015 between 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • 700 block of N. Avers on April 3, 2015 between 4:00p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

On March 30, 2015, at approximately 3:15-3:30 pm, two 9-year-old males exited school located in the 700 block of N. Lorel Ave. after dismissal and were walking southbound towards Huron St. when a white van pulled up. An unknown male black exited the van and said, “Come here, I got some candy for you,” while holding candy in his hand. The victims did not respond and continued walking. When the van began to follow them, the victims ran away and notified family members about the incident. The victims reported that there was also a male black passenger seated in the van.   015th Dist Attempt Child Luring _HY205085-CA_

This alert gives notice to businesses in the 25th District of a pattern of small retail store robberies.  There have been three incidents where an offender enters a business establishment, displays a knife, and demands money.

Incident times and locations:

  • 2300 block of N. Avers on 06 March 2015, at 11:58 a.m.
  • 4400 block of W. Belmont on 11 March 15, at 5:38 p.m.
  • 3700 block of W. Armitage on 15 March 15, at 7:58 p.m.

The offender is described as a male Hispanic, 20-30 years of age, 5’04” – 5’06”, 130-150lbs.In two incidents, the offender was wearing a black ski mask and a black hooded sweatshirt.

*In the incident on Belmont the offender fled in a blue colored vehicle with temporary license plates.
