This alert gives notice to 008th District (Chicago Lawn) community members of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of July.
Area North Detectives are seeking to identify these individuals who were involved in a Homicide which occurred on April 7, 2016 at approximately 3:30 p.m. on the 3400 block of W. Chicago Ave. During this incident, the offenders approached the victims on foot and one offender displayed a handgun and fired several shots. A 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were struck and fatally wounded.

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 005th District (Calumet) of an Attempted Child Abduction that occurred on July 11, 2016 at approximately 9:15 a.m. on the 13400 block of South Indiana. The juvenile victim was on his way to summer school when a newer model Jeep pulled curbside and demanded that the victim get into the vehicle. The victim got into the offenders vehicle and the offender drove east on 134th street and then pulled into an alley. When the offender attempted to sexually assault the victim, he made good his escape and advised his parents of the incident.

• On July 5, 2016, at approximately 5:00 p.m. on the 7900 block of S. Ashland Avenue, the manager of the Family Dollar Store was shot and killed during a theft attempt.

This alert gives notice to citizens of the 6th District (Gresham) of an Armed Robbery at a bank on the 200 block West 83rd Street at approximately 1:15 a.m. The offender approached the victim from behind in the ATM drive up, displayed a handgun and demanded the victims’ money. After receiving the proceeds, the offender fled the location on foot.

About This Crime
On June 21, 2016, at approximately 8:40 a.m., three juveniles, two males, ages five and nine, and a female, age 12, were walking southbound on Central Park towards the 3500 block of W. Arthington Street when they encountered an unknown offender in a red vehicle.
About the Crime:
The offenders enter commercial property (Subway restaurants; gas stations; 7-11stores). The first offender displays a handgun, either in his hand or by lifting his shirt to reveal it in his waistband.
