This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 009th District (Deering) of garage burglary incidents which have occurred during the month of April. In these incidents, offender(s) gain entry into residential garages and take property from therein. These incidents have occurred at various hours of the day in the general geographical locations listed below:

Incident times and locations:

  • 4500 Block of South Sacramento on April 1, 2016 at 8:00 PM
  • 4200 Block of West Campbell on April 5, 2016 at 11:00 PM
  • 4100 Block of South Maplewood on April 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM
  • 4500 Block of South Western Avenue on April 7, 2016 at 9:30 PM
  • 200 Block of West 46th Place on April 10, 2016 at 11:30 PM
  • 4500 Block of South Albany on April 11, 2016 at 12:01 AM
  • 4500 Block of South Talman on April 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM
  • 4600 Block of South Whipple on April 14, 2016 at 6:00 PM
  • 3100 Block of West 42nd Street on April 23, 2016 at 9:00 AM

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 1st (Central) District of robbery related incidents during the months of March and April. Offenders are approaching citizens from behind, on the public way (sidewalks or CTA platform), and ripping cellphones or headphones from victims, using physical force if necessary. This alert gives notice to citizens in the 8th District (Chicago Lawn) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of April. In these incidents, the offender(s) approach the victims, demand and forcibly remove their property.

•5900 Block of South Kolmar Avenue on April 7, 2016in the late evening hours
•5900 Block of South Kildare Avenue on April 7, 2016 in the late evening hours

On April 7, 2016 at approximately 8:00 a.m. in the 4600 block of S. Rockwell St., an unknown male attempted to lure two 13-year-old females and a 10-year-old male while they were walking to school. The male followed the children, made a sexual comment to the females offering them money for a sex act and grabbed the book bag of the boy who was able to pull away from the subject. About the crime:

On April 04, 2016 at approximately 9:35 A.M. a pedestrian was seriously injured when struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at 5900 S. Damen Ave. The 51 year old woman and her dog were struck by an unknown vehicle matching the below description.

About the vehicle:

Black in color, 4 door, possibly a Chevrolet Impala. The vehicle fled southbound on Damen Ave.

The pictured offenders are wanted in connection with Burglaries occurring in the 018th District (Near North) throughout January and February. During these crimes the male offender broke a window to a business and took money from the cash register. The female offender acted as a lookout. Incidents have occurred along North and Milwaukee Avenues mainly between the hours of 12:00 A.M. and 5:00 A.M.

On March 23, 2016, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a female 14 years old was walking north on the 2300 block of north Moody. An unknown male offender, motioned to the victim to come to his vehicle. When the victim ignored his gesture, he opened his door, to exit the vehicle. The victim, in fear, fled on foot, the offender followed in his vehicle. The offender attempted to block the path of the victim, who continued to flee. The offender was last seen east bound in the south alley of Fullerton.

The offender is described as a male, race unknown, 18-35, with a shaved head and tan skin wearing a white dress shirt with red colored neck tie. The vehicle is an unknown make and model, 4-doors, black in color with silver trim around the windows.

There have been several overnight burglaries to retail establishments in the 016th District. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have gained access to the businesses by shattering the front glass window or by prying the front entrance open. Offender(s) have also gained entry to the premises through the roof.

  • 5300 block of N. Milwaukee on March 14, 2016 at 4:15 am
  • 5500 block of N. Milwaukee on March 17-18,2016 between 11:00 pm – 6:00 am
  • 4000 block of N. Milwaukee on March 17-18, 2016 between 10:30 pm – 6:30 am
  • 5300 block of N. Milwaukee on March 18, 2016 at 3:44 am
  • 5500 block of W. Devon on March 24, 2016 at 5:05 am

About the offender:

In 5300 block of N. Milwaukee, 5500 N. Milwaukee and 4000 N. Milwaukee, the offender is described as a male black, wearing dark clothing, hoody under jacket, knit cap and gym shoes.
