Due to the recent rise in vehicle thefts and catalytic convert thefts, the Office of Community Policing is introducing a campaign to provide vehicle owners with services and information to better protect their vehicles. Certain models of Kia and Hyundai vehicles are eligible for free anti-theft upgrades from the manufacturer. To determine if your vehicle is eligible, go to the anti-theft upgrade webpage for your vehicle’s manufacturer and enter your vehicle’s VIN:
Kia HyundaiIn collaboration with private partners, the Office of Community Policing periodically provides steering wheel locks to eligible vehicle owners. For more information about the availability of steering wheel locks, call your local district station and ask to speak with the Community Policing office, or check your district’s engagement calendar for upcoming Vehicle Safety Day engagements.
