Chicago Police Department

My name is Federico Andaverde III, and I am the Commander of the 25th District. I am a Chicago native born and raised on the Southside of Chicago specifically in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. I attended Seward Elementary and Curie High School. After graduating High School, I served four years' active duty as a United States Marine. I attended calumet College of St. Josephs where I earned by Bachelor's Degree in Public Safety Management. In the year 2024 I graduated from the F.B.I. National Academy for Law Enforcement executives. My Chicago Police Career began in the 007th District Englewood followed by a few years in Public Housing South, 003rd District, Narcotics, 005th District, 10th District and finally landing in the 25th district. I have 27 years of Police experience in which I have earned over 300 awards including the Lambert Tree Award and Illinois State Medal of Honor. I envision myself helping the community by bringing my vast police knowledge to the officers and community of the 25th district. My plan for Public Safety in the 25th district includes working alongside our civilian counterparts that include Businesses/Community/Faith-based leaders/ and Political Stake holders. I hope this simple strategy helps promote strong relationships between our officers and community while reducing crime.
