20 Oct 17 7th District P17-2-104CA Robbery Alert
This alert gives notice of three recent Robbery incidents that have occurred within the boundaries of the 007th District (Englewood), on beats 731 & 722. In these cases, two male offenders take a taxi cab from the downtown area and request to be dropped off in the area of 6700 S. Perry and 7400 S. Harvard.  When exiting the car, one of the offenders displays a handgun, taking cash from the taxi driver.  All incidents occur between 2:00am-4:00am.

burglary incidents which have occurred during the months of September/October. In
these incidents, offender(s) gained entry to a residence and took property from
therein. These incidents have occurred in the geographical locations listed below:
Incident times and locations:
2500 Block of W. 79th Place on 28 September 2017 at approximately 2:35 P.M.
7900 Block of S. California Ave on 02 October 2017 at approximately 8:30 A.M.
8100 Block of S. Whipple Ave on 13 October 2017 at approximately 10:10 A.M.
3100 Block of W. 83rd Street on 16 October 2017 at approximately 10:49 A.M.
8100 Block of S. Fairfield Ave on 16 October 2017 at approximately 12:05 P.M.
About the offenders:
1) Male/Black, 17-25 yoa, dreadlock style hair
2) Male/Black, 14-16 yoa, short hairstyle
What you can do:
• Keep the perimeter of your property well lit
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• Keep doors and windows secured
• Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks
• If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for
investigating detectives.
• Make an agreement with your neighbors to watch each other’s homes for suspicious
activity.
• If you are a victim do not touch anything, call police immediately
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 9th District (Deering) and 12th District (Near West) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of October. In these incidents, the offenders approach the victims and demand their property.

Incident times and locations are listed below:

1000 Block of West Fulton Market on October 15, 2017 at 9:00AM

2600 Block of South Halsted Street October 15, 2017 at 9:15AM.

About the Offenders:

#1 – Male black offender, 18-25 years old, 5’11-6’01, 160-170lbs., Black hair, last

seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

#2 – Male black offender, 18-20 years old, last seen wearing a pink hoodie.

What you can do:

  • Always be aware of your surroundings
  • Report suspicious activity immediately
  • If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
  •  Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc…)
  • Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
  • If video surveillance equipment is present, please save a copy of the incident for investigating detectives
  • If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
  • Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
