About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents of the 014th District of recent vehicular hijackings and armed robberies, in which the victims are approached by the offenders who display handguns, point the guns in the face of the victims, and demand victim’s vehicle and/or their personal property (wallet, money, and cellphone).
CPD Community Alert – Vehicular Hijackings & Robberies 12th & 17th Districts (Near West & Albany Park)
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to the residents of the 12th and 17th Districts of three recent Armed Robberies. In those crimes, two to four armed offenders approached victims walking on the public way, sitting in or standing near their vehicles. The offenders pointed handguns at the victims while demanding and receiving the victims’ vehicles or personal property before fleeing. A silver Mercedes sedan was taken in one robbery and described as being used by the offenders in two additional robberies.

About this Crime:
Detectives are seeking to identify (ISR) and locate the above 3 offenders in regards to a catalytic converter theft that occurred on the 1700 block of west Jarvis. Driver double parked a black Audi Q5 in the middle of the street. Offenders exited and quickly lifted the vehicle with a pneumatic jack. One passenger acted as a lookout, while the driver used a portable yellow electric saw w/ light attached to cut away the converter. Beat 2422 on viewed the incident, and offenders quickly fled in the same vehicle. Indiana temporary registration P094295 was attached to the rear of the vehicle. No probable cause to arrest.
