This alert gives notice to the residents in the 14th District (Shakespeare) and 25th District (Grand Central) of recent armed robberies. In these incidents, an unknown offender(s) pulled up to the victims in a vehicle, either a white van or an SUV. One to two offenders exited the vehicle and approached the victims. Upon approaching the victims, the offender(s) proceeded to physically assault and rob (or attempt to rob) the victims of an unknown amount of US currency and property.
This alert gives notice to the recent burglaries that have occurred in the 20th District (Lincoln). In these burglaries, the unknown offender(s) gained entry onto the construction site by forcibly removing a wooden fence panel. Once inside the construction site, the offender(s) removed property from within.
On April 1, 2019, at approximately 7:15 a.m., a 14 year-old female was at the CTA bus stop, located on the 4200 block of North Kimball Ave., when a vehicle containing two male occupants stopped. The passenger opened his door, pulled down his pants, thus exposing himself and instructed the female to get into the vehicle. The victim ignored the request and the vehicle drove off Southbound on Kimball Ave.
This alert gives notice of commercial burglaries to restaurants, convenience stores, and storage facilities. The method of entry has varied based on the structure. The offender made access through roof vents at single story structures and pried/broke doors and windows on larger commercial buildings. Once inside, the offender demolished walls to gain access to registers and offices when necessary. The registers were pried open and an unknown amount of US currency was taken, along with other property.
On April 3, 2019 at approximately 4:00 p.m. the mother of the victim was sitting in her vehicle, waiting to pick up her children from School located in the 3700 block N. Oakley Ave. when she observed an African American male sitting in his vehicle watching the children being dismissed from school while touching himself inappropriately. After a period of time the offender drove his car off northbound on Oakley Ave.
On March 28, 2019 at approximately 1:38 p.m., an apartment was burglarized in the 3800 Block of North Troy St. The offender entered the apartment through a window and then took property.
