19 May 19 - Community Alert for Attempt Aggravated Arson (19th District)
The Arson Unit is seeking to identify the below pictured subject in relation to an Attempt Aggravated Arson incident of a place of worship. This incident occurred at two adjacent locations both in the 500 block of W. Melrose on May 19, 2019 at approximately 12:34 a.m. The offender used a Molotov at both locations but resulted in no fire damage and no injuries were reported.
06 May 19 - Two Offenders Charged in Andersonville Aggravated Battery
On September 29, 2018 at approximately 11:25 p.m., Elkins and Rodriguez were involved in an argument with three male adults inside an establishment located in the 5300 block of N. Clark Street. Elkins, Rodriguez and the victims exited the establishment and were involved in a fight on the sidewalk. The three male victims were transported to area hospitals with non-lifethreatening injuries. Eric Elkins and Giovanni Rodriguez were placed in custody on May 6, 2019 after turning themselves into the Bureau of Detectives – Area North. The offenders were charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.
This alert gives notice to the residents in the 14th District (Shakespeare) and 25th District (Grand Central) of recent armed robberies. In these incidents, an unknown offender(s) pulled up to the victims in a vehicle, either a white van or an SUV. One to two offenders exited the vehicle and approached the victims. Upon approaching the victims, the offender(s) proceeded to physically assault and rob (or attempt to rob) the victims of an unknown amount of US currency and property.
