This alert gives notice to the residents of the 016th District (Jefferson Park) of several garage burglaries that have occurred in the month of April within the boundaries of Elston to Montrose and Cicero to Central. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) gained entry by forcibly kicking or prying open the overhead or side door and windows. Offender(s) then entered the garage and took construction tools, bicycles, lawn equipment, air compressor and radio speakers.

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 002nd District (Wentworth) of robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of April. In these incidents, the offender approached victims and asked to use their cell phones. When the victim refused, they were attacked and the phone was physically taken.

Detectives are looking for help identifying a female and male offender who approached the victim, and attempted to take her cell phone by punching her.  One offender also bit the victim in the hand. This incident occurred on the CTA Blue Line at approximately Western on April 28 2016, 10:50 a.m.

About the offenders:

#1 – male black approximately 25-35 years old; 6’00”; 180 lbs. with black hair wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

#2 – female black approximately 18-25 years old; 5’06”; 120 lbs. wearing a dark colored ‘Aero Postle’ sweatshirt and black pants.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of residential burglaries which have occurred during the month of April. In these incidents, offender(s) gain entry through a door or window and take property from therein. These incidents have occurred in the geographical locations listed below:

  • 3800 Block of W. 57th Place on 13 April 2016 at approximately 12:00 P.M.
  • 3700 Block of W. 58th Street on 20 April 2016 at approximately 2:30 P.M.
  • 3800 Block of W. 59th Street on 24 April 2016 at approximately 8:15 P.M.

This alert gives notice to citizens of the 018th District (Near North) of an increase in Robbery related incidents during the month of April. In these incidents, an unknown offender approaches a lone victim on a CTA train and forcibly removes personal property from the victim. These incidents have occurred in the early morning hours in the general geographical locations listed below:

Incident times and locations:

  • 900 Block of W. Fullerton on April 12, 2016 in the early morning hours
  • 1600 Block of N. Clybourn on April 21, 2016 in the early morning hours

On April 26, 2016, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a female juvenile was walking home from school (Roosevelt H.S.). As the juvenile reached the 4500 block of North St. Louis Avenue, the driver of a White Jeep vehicle pulled up alongside the curb next to the juvenile. The unknown male driver honked his horn and through the passenger side motioned for the juvenile to come over to the car. The juvenile ignored the unknown males request and kept walking away which angered the unknown male who kept blowing his horn at the juvenile. The unknown male continued to follow the juvenile another block placing the juvenile in fear for her safety. The juvenile stopped into a store in the 3500 block of West Montrose where 911 was called. The unknown driver waited outside the store for a few minutes then fled westbound on Montrose.
