This alert gives notice to Business owners who operate commercial establishments in the 19th District (Area North). Burglary related incidents have occurred during the months of January and February. In these incidents, an offender(s) used force to enter retail stores and remove property. Incident times and locations are listed below:
• 4000 Block of N. Lincoln Av. on January 26, 2016 at approximately 03:30 A.M.
• 1200 Block of W. Belmont Av. on February 23, 2016 at approximately 01:40 A.M.
About the Offenders:
• In the incident on Lincoln Ave., the offender is described as a black male, 25-30 years of age, 5’08”-5’09”, 250lbs.
• In the incident of Belmont Ave., the offender is described as a black male, 35-45 years of age, 6’02”, 220lbs.
What you can do:
• Always ensure doors and windows are locked and secured, and alarms activated.
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (ie., scars, limp, acne, teeth)
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information

About This Crime:
• This alert gives notice to residents of the South Shore (004th) District of recent
armed robberies that occurred along 79th Street at CTA bus stops. In each
incident, the victims were awaiting the arrival of a CTA bus when the offender(s)
approached on foot. The offender(s) then proceeded to produce a firearm and
demand the victim’s property.
Location of Occurrences:
• 2000 block of East 79th Street on December 28, 2015 at approximately 5:12 a.m.
• 3000 block of East 79th Street on December 28, 2015 at approximately 12:45
p.m.
About The Offenders:
• The offender(s) were described as:
One to three male black offenders each believed to be 17 to 20 years of age one
of whom was further described as being approximately 6’02”.
Safety Tips:
• Attempt to travel in the company of others
• Be aware of your surroundings and avoid displaying valuables including cellular
devices
• If confronted by the armed offender, attempt to remain calm.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people
including any vehicle description and license plate information.

Business Alert – Convenience Store Robberies -016 District (Jefferson Park) and 017th District (Albany Park)
This alert gives notice to businesses and citizens of recent convenience store robberies that occurred on December 22nd and 24th in the 016th District (Jefferson Park) and 017th District (Albany Park). In these incidents, three offenders entered the stores and robbed them at gunpoint.
CPD BUSINESS ALERT – Comm Burglaries 17th Dist
This alert gives notice to two burglaries of commercial business in the 017th District.
Business Alert – 14th, 18th & 25th Districts – Retail Store Robberies (P15-N-004 BA)
There have been three incidents where retail stores have been the victim of a robbery by an offender armed with a knife. The offender enters a business and acts as if he is making a purchase. Once at the sales counter the offender displays a knife and demands money.
Business Alert for Armed Robberies of Food Delivery Drivers in the 16th District
This alert gives notice to the businesses in the 16th District (Jefferson Park) of armed robberies of food delivery drivers. In these incidents, the male drivers were making a food delivery when approached by unknown offenders who robbed them at gunpoint before fleeing.
Incident times and locations:
There have been two incidents since April 25, 2015 on beats 1613 and 1624.
4100 block of N. Marmora on April 25, 2015 at 12:22 AM
4900 block of N. Normandy on May 03, 2015 at 1:50 AM
About the offenders:
- 4100 block of N. Marmora – Three offenders, offender #1 described as a Male, Hispanic, 18-25 years, 5’08”, 150-180 lbs.
- 4900 N. Normandy – Possibly 1-5 offenders, wearing dark sweatshirts and bandanas.
Business Alert – Commercial Robberies 16th District and 25th District
There have been three recent Commercial Robberies in the 16th and 25th District. In these cases, a male white Hispanic offender enters the business, displays a Chrome/Silver handgun and demands money from the register.
Business Alert – 8th District – Robberies (P14-1-294 BA)
This alert gives notice to businesses in the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of robbery incidents that have occurred during November and December. In these incidents, the offenders have entered businesses, and one displays a weapon and demands cash while the other keeps watch.
Business Alert – 15th District – Burglaries (P14-N-233 BA)
This alert gives notice to businesses in the 15th District (North) of Burglary-related incidents that have occurred during the month of November and December. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) force their way into an apartment above or below the store and proceed to cut a hole in the floor or ceiling, allowing them entry into the business. Once inside, offenders burglarize the business.
