This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing) of burglary incidents which have occurred during the month of December. In these incidents, offender(s) gain entry into a residence and take property from therein.

Incident times and locations:

  • 6100 Block of S. Indiana Ave. on December 23, 2015 at approximately 8:15 p.m.
  • 6000 Block of S. Indiana Ave. on December 24, 2015 at approximately 12:00 a.m.
  • 100 Block of E. 60th Street on December 25, 2015 at approximately 7:00 a.m.
  • 6100 Block of S. Wabash Ave. on December 26, 2015 at approximately 7:15 p.m.
  • 6000 Block of S. Michigan Ave. on December 27, 2015 at approximately 4:15 p.m.

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing) of robbery related incidents have occurred during the month of December. In these incidents, the offender approaches victims, requests cigarettes, displays handgun and demands property.  In both instances, the offender flees in what is described as a silver or grey vehicle. Incident times and locations are listed below:

  • 7200 Block of S. South Chicago Ave on December 21, 2015 at approximately 4:30 P.M.
  • 7400 Block of S. State St. on December 28, 2015 at approximately 6:20 A.M.

About the offender:

  • Male/Black; 18 to 30 years of age; 5’07”- 5’09”; 150-165 lbs; medium brown complexion with dreadlocks

In these incidents, the offender(s) approach victims, demand property, and flee the area. In one instance, the offender(s) punched the victim in the face.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing) of an increase in robbery related incidents during the month of August on Beat 312. During these incidents, multiple offenders have approached the victim(s), brandished a weapon (pocket knife or unknown metal object), and after a struggle, taken property before fleeing the area.

About the crime:

On June 18, 2015 at approximately 8:00 AM, at 60th and Rhodes, a 14 year old female was walking to school when an unknown male and unknown female attempted to lure her into their vehicle. They pulled alongside the female and asked her if she wanted a ride. She refused and immediately informed a school crossing guard. The offenders fled when they observed the victim approached the crossing guard.

About the offender(s):

  • Offender #1 (Driver) is described as a female black.
  • Approximately 30 years of age, long hair, medium complexion.
  • Last seen wearing a light blue Nursing Scrub Top.
  • Offender #2 (Passenger) is described as male black
  • Approximately 35 years of age, light complexion.
  • Last seen wearing Black Scarf “Do-Rag”, Black Sweater

3rd district Attempt Luring _HY283594_On June 1, 2015, at approximately 6:20 AM, in the 7200 block of S. Stony Island Ave, two (2) unknown black males attempted to lure a14 year old female into their vehicle.  The female youth refused and ran away.  After following the youth a short distance the vehicle drove off in unknown direction.  The female youth ran home and informed her mother who called police.

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing) of an increase in robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of April/May on Beat 311.

The Offender approaches the victims, throws them to the ground and takes their property. Detectives are seeking information from anyone with knowledge of these offenders.
