On Thursday February 21, 2019, at approximately 8:35 a.m., an 11-year-old female juvenile was walking in the 300 block of South Lavergne Ave. when an African-American male in a vehicle asked the victim for her name, motioned her over to the vehicle, asked for her phone number and where she was going. The juvenile, in fear, ran southbound.

On February 6, 2019 at approximately 4:15 p.m., a 48-year-old man was sitting on a South Bound Cicero Ave. CTA bus located in the 300 block of North Cicero Ave. While the man was sitting toward the rear of the bus, the offender, who was sitting next to the victim, fell asleep on the victim. The man then pushed the offender off and the offender then brandished a knife and cut the victim. The victim sustained a cut in the face. The victim, while attempting to defend himself grabbed the knife and was cut on his hand. The offender then fled the bus and boarded a following CTA bus headed southbound on Cicero Ave.

This alert gives notice to the residents in the 15^th District (Austin) of three recent armed robberies. In these robberies, the lone female victims were approached by one or two African American male offenders. One of the offenders displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s property.

One offender displayed a knife or other object and demanded the victim’s property. In one incident, the victim was approached by the offender(s) from behind and placed a hard object against the victim’s back at which time the offender demanded the victim’s property. In the second incident, the victim was battered after the offenders displayed a knife and demanded property
