VillaGomez and Martinez were both arrested and charged with firing a handgun at an off-duty Chicago Police Officer.  The incident occurred April 23, 2015  at approximately 10:55 pm on the 2600 block of W. Division.  The officer was at a red-light when the offenders approached him on the passenger side of his vehicle in an SUV.  The offenders then began yelling gang slogans to the officer, who then identified himself as a Chicago Police Officer.  The officer began to drive away at which time the offenders fired a shot in the direction of the officer as they chased him down the street, firing a second time as the officer turned onto North Ave.  The officer then drove to the 014th (Shakespeare) district and was able to give a description of the offenders and their vehicle.  014th district officers immediately responded and apprehended the offenders, who were then positively identified by the officer and charged accordingly.  Martinez was currently out on bond for a prior firearm’s related charge.  Charges for GustavoVillagomez & Kevin Martinez

On March 30, 2015, at approximately 3:15-3:30 pm, two 9-year-old males exited school located in the 700 block of N. Lorel Ave. after dismissal and were walking southbound towards Huron St. when a white van pulled up. An unknown male black exited the van and said, “Come here, I got some candy for you,” while holding candy in his hand. The victims did not respond and continued walking. When the van began to follow them, the victims ran away and notified family members about the incident. This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 015th District (North) of robberies that have occurred during the month of March. In these incidents, an unknown offender approaches victim, points a revolver at them and demands their property.
Offender also takes their jackets and pants and has them lie on the ground before fleeing.

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 015th District (Austin) of an increase in robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of January. In these incidents, unknown male offender(s), armed with a handgun, either approach victim(s) on foot or exit out of a vehicle and rob victim of their property. Offenders then flee in the awaiting vehicle. Vehicles used consist of: Maroon Mini-Van; Blue Ford Windstar van; Light green 4 door Mitsubishi; green 4 door Oldsmobile.

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to residents in the 015th district of an increase in Robberies involving a black colored SUV (possibly a black Chevy Trailblazer or black GMC Envoy) . In multiple instances armed offenders exits out of a black Sports Utility Vehicle approach the victim and rob them of their property.

This alert gives notice to commercial delivery drivers in the 015th district of an increase in robberies. Unknown offenders approach commercial delivery drivers (UPS, FedEx) display a gun and rob the driver of his personal property and or the vehicles that they are driving.

This alert gives notice to businesses in the 15th District (North) of Burglary-related incidents that have occurred during the month of November and December. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) force their way into an apartment above or below the store and proceed to cut a hole in the floor or ceiling, allowing them entry into the business. Once inside, offenders burglarize the business.
