There have been recent Commercial Burglaries in the 17th District. In these cases, the unknown offender(s) used a cement block or brick to break the front glass door of the business or the side window. The offender(s) then entered the business and took property and money.

This alert gives notice to three recent Robberies that have occurred within the boundaries of the 017th District (Albany Park) on beat 1722. In the first incident, the three offenders approached the victim and implied that they had a firearm and threatened to shoot the victim if the victim did not hand over property. The offenders then fled the scene in an older model dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Chevy Blazer. In the second incident, the five offenders approached the victim, struck the victim with fists, took property and then fled in an older model, dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Chevy Blazer. In the third incident, the two offenders approached the victim, displayed a firearm and took property from the victim and then fled on foot.

There have been recent Commercial Burglaries in the 17th District. In these cases,
the unknown offender(s) used a cement block or concrete to break the glass door of
the business. The offender(s) then entered the business and took property and
money.
Incident times and locations:
• 3200 Block of West Lawrence Avenue on October 10, 2017 at 10:00 pm.
• 3300 Block of North Elston Avenue on October 17, 2017 at 5:15 am.
• 3300 Block of West Lawrence Avenue on October 17, 2017 at 11:55 pm.
About the Offenders:
• Male White Hispanic, 20-30 years-old, hooded sweatshirt
• Male White Hispanic, 22-28 years-old, hooded sweatshirt
• Male black, 25-45 years-old 5’08-6’02, 200-250 pounds

• Be aware of this crime and alert other Businesses.
• Business owners should ensure that their business equipped with a working
video surveillance system and Burglar alarm.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s)
including any vehicle description and license plate information as well as
direction of flight, if known.

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice of recent Armed Robberies that have occurred within the
boundaries of the 017th District (Albany Park). In all of these incidents, the offenders
approached the victims, displayed a handgun and took property from the victims. In
the first incident, the offenders fled in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle. In the last
incident, the offenders fled in a silver sport utility vehicle.
Incident times and locations:
• 4300 Block of West Ainslie Street on October 9, 2017 at 8:26 pm.
• 4600 Block of North Monticello Avenue on October 10, 2017 at 4:00 am.
• 3400 Block of North Albany Avenue on October 23, 2017 at 4:13 pm.
About the Offenders:
-Male White Hispanic, 16-20 years-old, 5’00 to 5’02, hooded sweatshirt, baseball hat
-Male White Hispanic, 16-20 years-old, 150-160 pounds, baseball hat
-Male White Hispanic, 20-25 years-old, 5’00 to 5’01, hooded sweatshirt

• Be aware of this crime and alert your neighbors.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious people loitering in the area.
• If there are suspicious people in the rear of your residence, do not park your
vehicle. Drive to a safe place nearby and call 911.
