On October 3, 2015, the 022nd District along with The Branch Family Institute, Metropolitan Family Services, Universal Family Connection, Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and A New Direction held a dog walk through the Morgan Park community, “Breaking the Leash”, in order to raise awareness on the issue of Domestic Violence.
Business Alert – Wanted for Robbery of Delivery Drivers – 022nd District (Morgan Park)
This alert gives notice to businesses in the Morgan Park (22nd) District of two recent Armed Robbery incidents that occurred in the Washington Heights neighborhood. In these incidents, offenders ordered food to be delivered to the 8900 Block of South Carpenter, on September 28 at approx. 9 pm, and the 9100 block of South Racine, on July 9th at approx. 9:15 pm. In both of these incidents, the delivery drivers were confronted by 2 males who displayed a black firearm, demanding the food and money. During the most recent robbery, one offender shot into the car of the fleeing delivery
driver.

Community Alert – Wanted for Garage Burglary – 022nd District (Morgan Park)
This alert gives notice to residents of the Morgan Park (22nd) District of four recent garage burglary incidents that occurred in the Morgan Park neighborhood in the month of September. In most of these incidents, an unknown offender makes entry into garages by entering through an unlocked door, or forcibly through a side or overhead door. Taken from the garages are primarily garden tools.
Business Alert – Wanted for Robbery of Delivery Drivers – 022nd District (Morgan Park)
This alert gives notice to businesses in the Morgan Park (22nd) District of two recent armed robbery incidents that occurred in the Morgan Park neighborhood. In these incidents, offenders ordered a pizza to be delivered to the 10700 block of South Loomis St. Delivery drivers were confronted by a group of five (5) males and one (1) female. One offender, armed with a 2×4 wood board, threatened the drivers and his accomplices took the pizzas, money, and phone from the drivers.
Community Alert – Homicide / Missing Vehicle – 022nd District (Morgan Park)
A Homicide occurred on September 14, 2015 at 12:43 am in the 108th Block of South Morgan. The home was then intentionally set on fire. The homeowner’s vehicle is missing. Missing is a 2004 Buick LeSabre. The vehicle has 4 doors and is black in color. It has an Illinois License Plate of V617710.
Business Alert – Burglaries – 022nd District – Morgan Park
This alert gives notice to businesses in the Morgan Park (22nd) District of two recent commercial burglary incidents that occurred in the Beverly neighborhood. The targeted businesses were located on the 10200 & 10400 blocks of Western Avenue. In one incident the offender(s) made entry by prying open a window, and in the other, the offender(s) entered by breaking into a vacant office next to the business, then breaching the wall between the businesses. Money & property were taken from the businesses. All of the burglaries occur during late night/early morning hours between 12:00am – 07:00am.

Community Alert – Wanted for Homicide – 022nd District (Morgan Park) Beat 2234
On 3 Sep 15 at 2:48 A.M., a 27 year old female victim was standing with friends in the 1600 block of West 115th Street when the above offender approached the group and fired a handgun several times. The victim was taken in critical
condition to Christ Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

This alert gives notice to residents of the Morgan Park (22nd) District of recent Theft from Vehicle incidents that occurred in the Beverly neighborhood.
CPD Community Alert: Catalytic Converter Thefts in the 22nd District (Morgan Park)
About these crimes:
On August 26, 2015, there were numerous reports of catalytic converters thefts from vehicles located in the Beverly & Morgan Park neighborhoods (9900-11700 S. Campbell – Washtenaw). Most of the targeted vehicles appear to be small to mid-size SUVs. The thefts occurred between 12:00am and 5:30am. Pictured above is a catalytic converter. After cutting them off of cars, the converters are usually taken to junk yards and could be worth up to several hundred dollars.
About the offenders:
Victims & witnesses reported observing two male African American subjects dressed in hooded sweatshirts committing these thefts. The offenders were driving in a black Mercedes sedan with Illinois Dealer plates.
