16 Jun 17 CPD Community Alert CHILD LURING – 24th DistrictOn June 16, 2017 at, approximately 3:15 p.m., a 12 year old minor female victim was walking Southbound on Damen from Columbia while the unknown offender was driving slowly alongside of her with the windows rolled down, for two blocks until she was in front of her home. He pulled next to the curb, yelled out the window “Hey” and waved at her motioning her to come over to him. She walked away in between two houses and called her father. The victim saw him drive away, Southbound on Damen towards Devon. The victim’s step mother came home and called 911.

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to the residents of the 24th District (Rogers Park) of apartment
and residential burglaries that have occurred. In these incidents, unknown
offender(s) have entered apartments and residences, through the front door, while
the occupants are present. Money, credit cards, keys, and other miscellaneous
items were taken.
Incident times and locations:
• 2400 block of W. Morse Ave. on March 29, 2017 at 10:55 PM
• 6800 block of N. Kedzie Ave. on April 04, 2017 at 7:10 PM
About the Offender:
In one of the incidents the Offender was described as being an Unknown Male, ‘507-
5’10, 140-170 lbs., wearing black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
What you can do:
• Be aware of this crime and alert nearby areas.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious people or vehicles loitering in the area.
• Have and maintain a working surveillance system.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s)
including any vehicle description and license plate information.

24 MAR 17 – CA Wanted for Attempt Child LuringOn March 23, 2017, at 7:50 a.m., the 11 year old minor female victim was walking towards the bus stop near the 7500 block of North Ashland. A dark color Van stopped at the viaduct near Ashland and Rogers with the driver side window half down. The unknown driver told the victim to come over by him. The victim in fear for her safety returned to her mother and informed her what occurred. The offender fled the scene in unknown direction.

DUI STRIKE FORCE PATROL – Rogers Park (24th) DISTRICT
The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Rogers
Park (24th) District this weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 6:00 p.m. on
Saturday, December 3, 2016 and end at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016.
The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers
that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place
emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for
speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.
In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow
officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI)
prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows
for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Strike Force
Patrol.
The DUI Strike Force Patrol conducted in the Near North (18th) District on November 26-27,
2016, resulted in the following:

Unsafe Vehicle Violations 35
Insurance Violations 11
Cell Phone Violations 7
Traffic Violations (Other) 16
Total Citations 69
Other Arrests 0
Vehicles Towed 1

About This Crime

This alert gives notice to businesses operating in the above Area North districts of several

armed robberies of Grocery/Drug style stores. During these incidents, the offender entered

the store, approached the cashier and demanded currency from the register, while armed

with a handgun.

About the Offender(s)

The offender is described as a male, Hispanic, between the ages of 25-45 years old. He is

between 5’08”-5’11” tall and weighing 180-230lbs. The offender has brown hair and eyes.

He was wearing a tan Carhartt style jacket, with a black hooded sweatshirt, and cargo style

pants.

Incidents times and locations:

These incidents have occurred in the overnight hours between 8:00pm- 02:00 a.m. These

incidents have occurred on beats 1921, 1925 and 2433

6100 block of N. Broadway on 26 Nov 2016 at 04:19am and 7:40pm

3200 block of N. Broadway on 27 Nov 2016 at 01:28am

3400 block of N. Western on 27 Nov 2016 at 01:50am

Be aware of this pattern crime and alert your friends and family about these crimes.

Employees should call 911 to report any suspicious persons lingering around their

business.

Business owners should ensure that their business is equipped with working video

surveillance system and hold up alarm.
