This alert gives notice to businesses in the 25th districts of a pattern of burglaries being committed. The offenders make forced entry into the businesses by various means and takes property.
Incident times and locations:
The Chicago Police Department will be conducting DUI Strike Force Patrols in the 3rd (Grand Crossing) District and in the 25th (Grand Central) District this weekend.
The 3rd District DUI Strike Force Patrol will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015 and end at 3 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015.
The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence in the 25th District at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 and end at 3 a.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2015.
Medina and Marchan were arrested after they were identified as the persons who entered several retail businesses in the 17th and 25th districts from February 1st to March 25, 2015 and robbed the establishments. Medina entered the businesses announced a robbery and displayed a handgun on two of the incidents and a knife in the others, before demanding money and property. Medina would then flee in a vehicle driven by Marchan. Area North detectives issued a Business Alert on March 17, 2015 informing the business owners in the area. This alert gives notice to businesses in the 25th District of a pattern of small retail store robberies. There have been three incidents where an offender enters a business establishment, displays a knife, and demands money.
Incident times and locations:
The offender is described as a male Hispanic, 20-30 years of age, 5’04” – 5’06”, 130-150lbs.In two incidents, the offender was wearing a black ski mask and a black hooded sweatshirt.
*In the incident on Belmont the offender fled in a blue colored vehicle with temporary license plates.
About the Crime:
On March 9, 2015 at approximately 8:35 a.m., a 38-year-old female was walking alone on the 3000 block of N. Mason when a male offender approached her and attempted to engage her in conversation of a sexual nature after which he exposed his penis and continued to walk southbound on Mason.
There have been three recent Commercial Robberies in the 16th and 25th District. In these cases, a male white Hispanic offender enters the business, displays a Chrome/Silver handgun and demands money from the register.

In these incidents, two offenders approach the victims; demand their property, and forcibly take items from victims. In one incident, the offenders imply they have a gun.
