The Chicago Police Department will be conducting DUI Strike Force Patrols in the Calumet (5th) and Ogden (10th) Districts this weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Calumet (5th) District will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16th, 2015. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence in the Ogden (10th) District at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17th, 2015.

About This Crime:

On Monday, January 12, 2015, at approximately 3:53 p.m., a 27-year-old female school crossing guard was struck by a sport utility vehicle at the intersection of 127th Street and Union Avenue. This incident occurred while school children were crossing the street. As a result of the crash, the crossing guard sustained serious personal injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene of the crash without identifying himself / herself or rendering aid to the victim.

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Calumet (5th) District. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 11th, 2015.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.
