This alert gives notice to retail stores and restaurants operating in the 001st District (Central) of burglary related incidents which occurred during the month of September. Unknown offenders forced entry into taverns, restaurants and retail stores by breaching rear doors or smashing front door glass, during early morning hours, and stealing cash from registers, safes or vending and amusement machines.
On September 13, 2016, at approximately 2:51 p.m. on the 6400 block of West 62nd St., (2) unknown offenders attempted to lure an adolescent female into their vehicle. The victim was walking home from school and a light blue Dodge Minivan drove alongside and stopped. The passenger stated, “Come here!” The victim then ran home as the offenders followed in their vehicle.

Victor Vazquez was arrested and charged after being identified as the offender who fatally shot a 44-year-old man on the 4500 block of S. Hermitage Ave. on September 5, 2016, at approximately 4 p.m.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 009th District (Deering) of burglary related incidents which have occurred during the month of August. In these incidents, offender(s) gained entry into residences by pushing in the window air conditioner or through the front door and took property from therein.
About the Crime:
On August 28, 2016 between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., an unknown male approached the 5-year-old female juvenile victim and made inappropriate sexual contact with her.
