This alert gives notice to the Business Owners of the 20th District (Lincoln) of several recent commercial burglaries that have occurred. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered business through doors or windows by force using a pry tool or blunt object. Items taken include cash, cash registers, cigarettes, batteries and other miscellaneous items.

Incident times and locations:

There have been nine incidents that have occurred since April 1, 2015. These incidents have taken place, within the boundaries of Sheridan to Clark and Gunnison to Peterson, during the late PM hours to the early AM hours.

  •  5000 block of N. Sheridan on April 1, 2015, at 3:00 AM
  • 5300 block of N. Broadway on April 2, 2015, at 3:00 AM
  • 5200 block of N. Broadway on April 11, 2015 at 3:15 AM
  • 1600 block of W. Foster on April 13, 2015 at 3:00 AM
  • 5400 block of N. Broadway on April 17, 2015 at 10:15 PM
  • 5200 block of N. Broadway on 2 May, 2015 at 3:45 AM
  • 5800 block of N. Broadway on 3 May 2015 at 12:00 AM
  • 5200 block of N. Clark on 5 May 2015 at 6:15 AM
  • 5700 block of N. Broadway on 10 May 2015 1:00 AM

Marcus Jones was arrested on May 7th, 2015 at approximately 1:37 a.m. in the 1500 Block of W. Morse Ave. Officers responded to a burglary in progress call and located Marcus Jones inside. Jones had a shopping cart filled with various pieces of office equipment and was in possession of a pry bar. Jones was arrested and charged accordingly. Further investigation by Area North Detectives revealed Marcus Jones to be the man wanted in connection with several condominium burglaries in the area. A Community Alert with his photo was sent out on April 29, 2015. Jones has been charged accordingly in several of these incidents. Detectives continue to investigate other possible victims. Marcus Jones appeared in Central Bond Court on May 8, 2015. No further information is available at this time.

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 11th District (Harrison) of several burglaries that have
occurred in the month of April. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) make entry into apartments
and take property.
Incident times and locations:
• 2400 Block of West Polk Street on April 10th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
• 2700 Block of West Flournoy Street on April 20, 2015 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• 2400 Block of West Flournoy Street on April 24, 2015 from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• 2400 Block of West Harrison Street on April 29, 2015 at 1: 07 p.m.

This alert addresses street Robberies that have occurred in the 014th District. There have been two robberies in the area of Milwaukee/Division/Ashland, in which two offenders display a handgun or knife and take the victim’s money.

Incident times and locations:

  • 1200 block of N. Bosworth on April 12, 2015 at 4:30 am.
  • 1200 block of N. Ashland on April 26, 2015 at 12:45 am.

Offender’s description

  • Both offenders are described as being male black, 35 – 40 years of age, approximately 6’02” tall and weighing 250 lbs.

Anastacio Gonzales, 51 was arrested after he was identified as the man who fatally stabbed a 50 year old man in the chest during a verbal altercation. This incident occurred on the 2600 block of W. Chicago Ave. on April 18, 2015 at approximately 1:05 a.m. Gonzales was charged accordingly.

This alert addresses Armed Robberies that have occurred in the 011th District. In both robberies, the victims are robbed at gunpoint on the street after exiting the CTA Greenline.

Incident times and locations:

  • 200 block of N. Kedzie on March 24, 2015 at 1:20 am.
  • 200 block of N. Central Park on March 25, 2015 at 8:30 pm.

 Offender’s description:

  • One offender is described as being a male black, unknown age, 5’6″ – 5’8″ tall, approximately 180 -190 lbs, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and a mask covering his face.
  • The other offenders are (3) unknown male blacks.
