6th District (Gresham)

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to businesses in the 006th District (Gresham) on Beats 611,

614 and 621of burglary related incidents which occurred during the month of August.

During these incidents an unknown offender(s) gained entry to the businesses by

breaking the front window or prying the front/back door open.

Incident times and locations:

• 7900 block of South Vincennes Ave.,, Monday, August 14, 2017 at 07:47 A.M.

• 1800 block of West 79th Street, Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 03:58 A.M.

• 7600 block of South Ashland Avenue, Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 00:35 A.M.

• 8100 block of South Ashland Avenue, Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 09:15 P.M.

• 7800 block of South Ashland Avenue, Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 09:39 P.M.

• 7600 block of South Ashland Avenue, Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 02:38 A.M.

• 8100 block of South Ashland Avenue, Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 03:00 A.M.

DUI SATURATION PATROL – 4th (SOUTH CHICAGO) DISTRICT

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol in the 4th (South Chicago) District this weekend. The DUI Saturation Patrol will commence at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.

In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI)
prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Saturation Patrol.

The DUI Saturation Patrol conducted in the 2nd (Wentworth) District on July 28-29, 2017 resulted in the following:

Insurance Violations 6
Driver’s License Violations 5
Traffic Violations (Other) 19
Total Citations 46

Seeking to Identify – Wanted for Homicide
6th District (Gresham)
About The Crimes
On July 9, 2017 at 12:37 P.M., an unknown male black was involved in a homicide at the CTA
Station on the 0-100 block of 95th St. A 22 year-old male was stabbed in the abdomen and
transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced.

About The Offender
• The subject is described as a Male Black, 5’08”-5’10”, 140-155lbs., medium complexion and
short dreadlocks.
• The subject was wearing a black T-shirt with black and white shorts.
