The Chicago Police Department will be conducting DUI Strike Force Patrols in the Englewood (7th) District and the Rogers Park (24th) District this weekend.
Escapee Kamron Taylor was taken into custody by Chicago Police in the 9200 block of S. Harper Ave. On April 3, 2015, at approximately 9:00 pm, 004th District officers responded to a call of a suspicious person, as the officers approached, Taylor fled on foot. Officers apprehended him a short distance away and recovered a loaded .38 caliber revolver. Taylor has been charged accordingly and will be turned over to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department at a later time to face local charges. The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Gresham (6th) District. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21st, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 22nd, 2015.
The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the Grand Crossing (3rd) District at 7424 S. Stony Island Ave. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21st, 2015.
Mathew Price was arrested after he was identified as the driver who struck and killed a 22-year-old female pedestrian. The traffic crash occurred in the 5900 block of S. Halsted St. on March 12, 2015 at approximately 1:45 p.m. Price did not stop after he struck the victim and was apprehended a short time later at 5300 S. Union. Price was charged accordingly.

The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the Morgan Park (22nd) District at 10000 S. Halsted St. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7th, 2015.
Monte Williams was arrested after he was identified as the man who shot two people in 9500 block of S. Oglesby Ave. on August 31, 2014 at approximately 9:15 p.m. The 51 year old male victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and the 27 year old female victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm. Both victims were taken to Christ hospital for treatment. No further information available at this time.
Chris Moore was arrested after he was identified as the person who stabbed a 48 year old female. CFD and CPD personnel responded to a “person down” call on February 8, 2015 at approximately 12:10 p.m. in the 11300 block of S. Parnell Ave. and discovered an unresponsive female. It was later determined that the victim died from a stab wound to the abdomen. Moore was arrested and charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the South Chicago (4th) District. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7th, 2015.
The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.
In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI) prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Strike Force Patrol.
