Chicago Police Officers respond to an “Assist CFD” call in the 3100 block of N. Marmora this morning at 8:20 a.m. First responders on the scene, Field Training Officer Robert Cavaiani and Probationary Police Officer Nicholas Picicci, located a 62 year old man inside his residence having a medical emergency. The man was unresponsive and not breathing. Officers immediately began CPR and continued until CFD arrived. The Chicago Fire Department transported the man to Community First Hospital where he was stabilized. Staff at the hospital accredits the actions of responding Officers as a key factor in helping save this man’s life. This is P.P.O. Picicci’s first day on the job and one he won’t forget.

Robberies in which the offender is armed with a knife are occurring in the 014th District (Shakespeare) . In each case, offender enters a small restaurant or convenience store, and announces a robbery. He brandishes a butcher knife, or implies that he is holding a handgun.

On October 10, 2015, at 5:37 P.M., a pedestrian was seriously injured while she was walking on the sidewalk on the 2900 block of East 95th Street. The victim was struck by someone operating a motorized scooter which was illegally driving on the sidewalk. The victim sustained serious injuries resulting in her hospitalization. The driver of the motorized scooter fled the scene after the incident.

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the 020th District (Lincoln) and 009th District (Deering) this weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence in the 9 th District at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m on Saturday, November 7, 2015. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence in the 20th District at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2015.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 015th District (Austin) of Robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of October. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) approach victim, threatens or actual uses physical force against the victim and robs them of their property.

On November 2, 2015 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee was shot and killed in an alley on the 8000 block of S. Damen. Save Our Children – St. Sabina is offering reward money for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the offenders responsible for murdering Tyshawn Lee. Additional details are available at

At present, more than $35,000 from various organizations has been raised to encourage anyone with information about the murder of Tyshawn Lee to step forward to aid in the arrest and prosecution of the involved offender(s) and bring closure to the investigation. Trae Chatmon was arrested after he was identified as the person who fatally stabbed an 89-year-old woman on October 26, 2015 at approximately 2:55 a.m on the 5100 block of S. Michigan Avenue. Chatmon forcefully gained access to the victim’s apartment and struck the victim in the head with an object and stabbed her multiple times. Chatmon then ransacked the victim’s apartment and set the residence ablaze before fleeing with several items of property. Chatmon was in custody at Cook County jail in a separate incident and was charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.

On November 3, 2015, at approximately 3:45 pm on the 7900 block of South Talman, a female juvenile was walking home from school when an unknown male offender grabbed the victim by the shoulder and pulled her backward. The victim bit the offender on the hand and he released her. The victim fled the scene to her residence and the offender fled southbound on Talman. The offender may also be the offender wanted for a burglary that occurred on the 2600 block of W. 79th Pl. on November 4, 2015.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 011th District (Harrison) of robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of October. In these incidents, an offender or offenders used force and the threat of force by displaying a handgun, and taking cell phones, purse, currency and credit cards from citizens on the street.

This alert gives notice to citizens of the 004th (South Shore) and 006th (Gresham) Districts of two commercial burglaries involving financial institutions and their associated properties.  In each of these incidents, the offenders approached, used pry tools and other devices to open ATM machines. In one incident, the offenders were successful in accessing money contained therein.
