This alert gives notice to several Armed Robberies that have occurred within the boundaries of the 017th  District (Albany Park). There have been several robberies in which one or two offenders approach the victims on the street, and demand the victim’s property while pointing a handgun at the victim.

On November 17, 2016 at approximately 8:00 a.m., a 16-year-old female was parking her vehicle in the 7500 block of West Everell to attend classes nearby. An unknown subject pulled up in an SUV and told the victim to come to his car. The victim refused and re-entered her vehicle and locked the doors. The unknown subject then fled E/B on Everell towards Harlem.

002nd District (Wentworth)

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 002nd District (Wentworth) of robbery related

incidents which have occurred during the month of November. In these incidents,

two to three offenders exited a vehicle (described as either a white van or a gray

SUV, possibly a Jeep), surrounded the victims and forcibly removed property, before

fleeing area. Incident times and locations are listed below:

5300 Block of S. Ingleside Ave. on November 16, 2016 @ approximately 7:05

P.M.

5400 Block of S. Drexel Ave. on November 16, 2016 @ approximately 7:05

P.M.

About the Offenders:

Offender(s) is described as:

2-3 Male, black, 16-30 years of age. One offender is described as being 6’05”-6’06”,

170-180 lbs. with a medium brown complexion.

What you can do:

Always be aware of your surroundings

Report suspicious activity immediately

If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm

Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth,

etc…)

Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police

If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information

Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible

th District (Chicago Lawn) of

burglary incidents which have occurred during the month of

November. In these

incidents, offender(s) gained entry into the residence through a rear door/ window

and removed property from therein. These incidents occurred in the geographical

locations listed below:

5100 Block of S. Keeler on 04 November 2016 at approximately 10:15 A.M.

5200 Block of S. Kostner on 05 November 2016 at approximately 09:20 A.M.

4800 Block of S. Kolin on 05 November 2016 at approximately 10:20 P.M.

5100 Block of S. Tripp on 09 November 2016 at approximately 09:30 P.M.

5000 Block of S. Keeler on 10 November 2016 at approximately 06:50 A.M.

4900 Block of S. Knox on 11 November 2016 at approximately 2:30 P.M.

What you can do:

Keep the perimeter of your property well lit

Report suspicious activity immediately

Keep doors and windows secured

Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks

If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for

investigating detectives.

Make an agreement with your neighbors to watch each other’s homes for suspicious

activity.

DUI SATURATION PATROL– Shakespeare (014th) DISTRICT

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the

Shakespeare (014th) District this weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 6:00

p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 and end at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2016.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers

that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place

emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for

speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.

In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow

officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI)

prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows

for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Strike Force

Patrol.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 002nd District (Wentworth) of robbery related incidents which have occurred during the month of November.  In these incidents, the offender approached the victim on the street or sidewalk, then demanded and took property from the victims, prior to fleeing the area.  In one instance, the offender threatened to shoot the victim, but did not display a gun.
