This alert gives notice to residents of the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of an Attempted Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse that occurred on a CTA bus in the 5200 block of South Pulaski on January 15, 2016 at approximately 6:20 am. A 14-year-old was riding the bus to school when the described offender, who was also riding the bus, made inappropriate physical contact while making unwanted advances towards her. As the victim got out of her seat to exit the bus, the offender grabbed her in an attempt to convince her to stay.

008th (Chicago Lawn) District

 

About the Crime:

 

On January 13, 2015 at approximately 1:30 a.m., a 30-year-old female victim was walking E/B on 83rd Street between Washtenaw and Talman, when two male blacks in a vehicle approached the victim.  The first offender exited the vehicle, grabbed the victim from behind, and forced her into the vehicle. Next, the offender sexually assaulted the victim while the second offender, who was armed with a handgun, continued to drive. Shortly thereafter, the victim was released, where upon police were notified.

 

About the Offenders:                               

  • 2-Male blacks
  • 25-30 years of age
  • 6’02” tall, 165 to 300 lbs.
  • Brown eyes
  • Dark complexion
  • Black hair
  • Fade hair style
  • Navy blue colored hoody sweater, black pants and black gym shoes
  • Skull Cap

 

Vehicle information:

  • Late model Buick
  • Silver in color

 

What you can do:

  • Always be aware of your surroundings
  • Report suspicious activity immediately
  • Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc…)
  • Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
  • If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
  • Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible

13-Jan-16 017th District Residental Burglaries P16-N-006(CA)

About the Crime:

There have been recent Commercial Burglaries in the 17th District. In these cases, unknown offenders forcibly enter a business by either prying open a side door, or entering through the roof. The offenders then disable the alarm and video systems, and take property from the businesses.

Incident times and locations:

4600 Block of West Belmont on January 2, 2016 at 3:40 am.

3600 Block of North Pulaski on January 7, 2016 between 1:00 and 7:00 am.

About the Offenders:

Unknown male offenders wearing dark clothing with hooded sweatshirts and their faces covered.

What you can do:

Be aware of this crime and alert other Businesses.

Business owners should ensure that their business equipped with a working

video surveillance system and Burglar alarm.

Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s)

including any vehicle description and license plate information as well as

direction of flight, if known.

On Thursday, January 7, 2016 at approximately 8:41 a.m., a 12-year-old male child was riding a crowded #4 Cottage Grove bus southbound on his way to school. On four different occasions, the child was approached by an unknown male and asked to move so that other passengers could get off the bus. When the child complied, the unknown male touched the child inappropriately. The unknown male exited the bus at 8700 S. Cottage Grove
