Store Robberies
14th District (Shakespeare)
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to businesses operating and citizens frequenting the 014th
(Shakespeare) District of recent armed robberies to small. In these incidents,
offenders entered the stores and robbed them at gunpoint. In each of the incidents, the
windows to the storefront were obscured by signage and posters, preventing the store
employees from seeing outside and preventing anyone from seeing what was happening
inside. These incidents have occurred during the evening hours in the general location listed
below:
Incident times and locations:
• 3100 block of N. Central Park on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 8:24 PM;
• 2800 block of W. Belmont on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 8:32 PM;
• 2700 block of W. Armitage on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10:09 PM;
About the Offenders:
• Two Male, Hispanic, wearing black ski masks, black coats, and black pants.
Offenders wore black gloves and displayed a handgun.
• Two Male, blacks dressed in black hooded sweatshirts and black jeans. Both
offenders wore black or red gloves and displayed a handgun.
What you can do:
• Be aware of these incidents and inform fellow citizens and business owners
• Report suspicious activity immediately to 911.
• If you are confronted by an assailant, remain calm.
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, tattoos, missing teeth, etc.),
clothing and vehicle descriptions such as make, model, color and license plate
number.
• Businesses should have working alarms and video surveillance systems covering
inside and outside. Consideration should be given to having storefronts clear of
signage so that persons entering can be seen.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 017th District of recent burglaries, where entry was made by forcing open the rear door, or side window of the residence.
CPD Business Alert – 016th District (Jefferson Park) Commercial Burglaries
There have been several overnight burglaries to retail establishments in the 016th District. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have shattered the front glass/window of the business or pried open the front or rear door to gain access. Offender(s) have also gained entry by forcibly opening the drive-thru window. Once inside the business, the offender(s) remove currency and other items

This alert gives notice to the citizens in the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of January. In these incidents, the offender(s) approached the victim and produced a handgun, demanding cell phones and money. Three Men Charged in Home Invasion
The above offenders were arrested and charged in connection to a home invasion incident that occurred on the 3600 block of S. Magnolia on January 9, 2016 at approximately 12 a.m during which offenders entered into the apartment of a 77-year-old woman, rendered the victim unconscious and stole her property and vehicle. Offenders then burglarized an additional apartment in the building. Offenders were placed into custody by 19th District officers and Area North detectives with the assistance of Illinois State Police. For more information, click here.
