16 Jun 17 CPD Community Alert CHILD LURING – 24th DistrictOn June 16, 2017 at, approximately 3:15 p.m., a 12 year old minor female victim was walking Southbound on Damen from Columbia while the unknown offender was driving slowly alongside of her with the windows rolled down, for two blocks until she was in front of her home. He pulled next to the curb, yelled out the window “Hey” and waved at her motioning her to come over to him. She walked away in between two houses and called her father. The victim saw him drive away, Southbound on Damen towards Devon. The victim’s step mother came home and called 911.

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice of recent Robberies that have occurred in the 011th District. In

these incidents the offender(s) approached the victim, and after displaying a black

handgun racked the gun’s slide. The offender(s) then robbed the victim of personal

items. Offenders may travel in a black 4 door vehicle. Times and locations are listed

below:

100 Block of North Pulaski on June 2, 2017 at 2:15am.

4600 Block of West Adams on June 3, 2017 at 6:30am.

About the Offenders:

Offender #1 Male, black, 18-23yrs about 5’09” and 160lbs wearing a black

“hoodie” sweatshirt; holding a black handgun.

Offender #2 Male, black, 18-23yrs wearing a black “hoodie”

Offender #3 Male, black, 18-23yrs wearing a black “hoodie”

What you can do:

Always be aware of your surroundings

Report suspicious activity immediately

If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm

Remember any unique physical characteristics (ie., scars, limp, acne, teeth)

Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police

If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information

Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible

DUI SATURATION PATROL – 25th (GRAND CENTRAL) DISTRICT

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol in the 25th (Grand Central) District this weekend. The DUI Saturation Patrol will commence at 6 p.m., on Saturday, June 17, 2017 and end at 2 a.m., on Sunday, June 18, 2017.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.

In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI) prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Saturation Patrol.

The DUI Saturation Patrol conducted in the 4yh (South Chicago) District on June 10-11, 2017 resulted in the following:

Driving Under the Influence – 0

Unsafe Vehicle Violations – 9

Driver’s License Violations – 3

Insurance Violations – 8

Safety Belt Violations – 3

Traffic Violations (Other) – 13

Total Citations – 36

Other Arrests – 0

Vehicles Towed – 2

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol in the Shakespeare (14th) District this weekend. The DUI Saturation Patrol will commence at 7 p.m., on Friday, June 16, 2017 and end at 3 a.m., on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
