This alert updates a notice to citizens residing in the 001st District (Central) of motor vehicle theft incidents during the months of June-July. Unknown offender(s) are finding unlocked autos, or breaking windows to gain access to vehicles and commit a theft. These incidents have occurred during daytime and overnight hours in the general geographical locations listed below:

Residential Garage Burglaries
25th District (Grand Central)
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to the residents of the 25th District (Grand Central) of garage
burglaries that have occurred on Beat 2521. In these incidents, unknown offender/offenders
have entered the garage side/service door, and have removed miscellaneous property from
the garage.
Incident times and locations:
• 4800 block of West Diversey, on July 15, 2017 at 7:53pm
• 5000 block of West Fletcher on July 26, 2017 between 9:30am and 10:10am
• 2900 block of North Kilpatrick on July 31, 2017 between 8:30am and 11:00am
About the offenders
In one of these incidents a witness observed two unknown males (possibly Hispanic)
running with bags from their garage.
What you can do:
• Be aware of this pattern crime and alert your friends and family about these crimes.
• Make sure all doors and windows are locked.
• Make sure any alarm systems of security cameras are activated and working properly.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious subjects loitering in the area.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s), including any
vehicle description and license plate information, as well as direction of flight, if known.

DUI SATURATION PATROL – 4th (SOUTH CHICAGO) DISTRICT

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol in the 4th (South Chicago) District this weekend. The DUI Saturation Patrol will commence at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.

In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI)
prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Saturation Patrol.

The DUI Saturation Patrol conducted in the 2nd (Wentworth) District on July 28-29, 2017 resulted in the following:

DUI SATURATION PATROL – 11th (HARRISON) DISTRICT

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol in the 11th (Harrison) District this weekend. The DUI Saturation Patrol will commence at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 5th, 2017 and end at 3 a.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017.

Seeking to Identify – Wanted for Aggravated Battery
019th District (Townhall)
About The Crimes
On July 8, 2017 at 05:03 A.M., an unknown male Asian was involved in an aggravated battery at
the Sheridan Redline Station on the 3900 block of North Sheridan Ave. A 49 year-old male was
knocked down a flight of stairs. The offender followed the victim and repeatedly kicked the
victim in his head. The Victim suffered a broken orbital socket and broken pelvis, along with
multiple bruises and abrasions. The offender boarded at Thorndale and exited at Sheridan.
About The Offender
• The subject is described as Male “Philipino”, 25-35 years, 5’03-5’07/130-160lbs Brown short
parted hair and Olive complexions.
• The offender was wearing a white polo shirt with a dark stripe on the collar, dark pants and
gray shoes.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 001st (Central) District of robbery related incidents during the month of July. Unknown Female offender(s) used forced, or threatened the use of force and took unknown amount of USC from a cash register, and personal property from victim(s).

Incident times and locations:

  • 1100 block of S. State St. on 24 July  2017 at 9:25 AM
  • 100 block of N. Wabash Ave. on 28 July 2017 at 4:45 AM

About the offenders:

  • Female(s) Black, 14-16 years old, Between 5’03” and 5’04, 150-205 lbs.

What you can do:

  • Always be aware of your surroundings
  • Report suspicious activity immediately
  • If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
  • Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc.)
  • Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police

ROBBERY

1st District (Central)  

 About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 1st (Central) District of robbery related incidents during the month of July.  The offender is entering bank branch lobbies and confronting citizens that are using the Automatic Teller Machine (ATM).  There he forces the victim, through threat of violence, to deposit a check into the victim’s account and immediately withdraw $500-$600 USC.  Offender has conducted this act himself, via the victim’s account, if the victim refuses to cooperate. These incidents have occurred during the evening hours in the general geographical locations listed below:

Incident times and locations:

  • 0-100 block of E. Monroe St. on 22 July 2017 at 5:00 PM
  • 0-100 block of S. Dearborn St. on 22 July 2017 at 10:00 PM

About the offenders:

  • Male, Black 35, 5’07 170, short black hair, medium complexion.

  • Always be aware of your surroundings
