On December 26, 2014, in the 300 Block of E. 47th St. officers responded to a call of shots fired. As responding officers neared the location concerned citizens gave detailed information about Monroe and Rogers. Monroe and Rogers were located and placed into custody. During this time a victim was discovered with several gun shot wounds to the chest and leg. The victim was later pronounced at Stroger hospital.
The above listed offenders were arrested after they were identified as the persons responsible for the murder of an 18 year old male on December 22, 2014 in the 5500 block of W. 63rd Place at approximately 10:25 am. The victim was shot multiple times and taken to Christ Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. All were charged accordingly.
Jason Rayford was arrested and charged for the death of a 24 year old male pedestrian on December 21, 2014 in the 5300 block of S. Western Ave at approximately 3:10 a.m. Rayford was the passenger of the vehicle that struck the male, killing him. Rayford began fighting and striking the 29 year old female driver while she was driving. Rayford then pulled on the steering wheel causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle struck the victim. He taken to Christ Hospital where and succumbed to his injuries.
Lamont Jackson and Louis Smith were arrested after they were identified as participating in the murder of an 18 year old man on December 21, 2013 at 7900 S. Lafayette Ave., at approximately 7:00 p.m. Officers responded to a call of shots fired and found the victim laying face down with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced on the scene. Both Jackson and Smith were charged accordingly. Jackson had a prior bond court date of 18 December 2014.
Pitts as arrested and charged in connection to a fatal shooting incident which occurred on the 5200 block of W. Lake Street on May 26, 20144, at approximately 3:15 p.m., during which he shot and fatally wounded a 33-year-old male. The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital and pronounced. Pitts was identified as the shooter and charged accordingly. No further details are available at this time.
Jenero January was arrested on December 14, 2014, after he was identified as the man wanted for multiple burglaries in the Beverly and West Beverly area. Tactical Officers from the 22nd District were able to locate January and during the process of the arrest, found him to be in possession of a handgun. January was charged accordingly.
Three additional male juveniles were arrested after they were identified as participating in the murder that occurred on the 0-100 block of W. 63rd St. on December 13, 2014 at approximately 12:39 p.m. The 15 year old male victim was walking at this location when the offenders approached and announced a robbery. The victim was shot once in the chest and succumbed to his injuries on the scene. The juveniles were charged accordingly.
