Thomas Porter was arrested and charged in connection to a murder, which occurred at approx. 9pm on December 23, 2014. Porter was identified as the offender responsible for fatally shooting a 20 year old male victim in the chest, inside of a residence located on the 7800 block of South Lowe Ave. The victim died as a result of his wound and was pronounced on scene. Porter was arrested without incident and charged accordingly.
West Side Man Charged in Lawndale Murder
Tyrese Bell was arrested after he was identified as the person who murdered a man in the 1200 block of South Albany Ave on January 8, 2015 at approximately 8:45 p.m. Bell shot the 51 year old victim in the chest during the commission of a robbery. The victim was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was ultimately pronounced. Bell was charged accordingly and is scheduled to appear in Central Bond Court on January 11, 2015.
California Man Charged in 2013 Murder
On March 17, 2013, at approximately 9:00 a.m., 31-year-old female was discovered deceased in a residence on the 1400 block of W. Cullerton Street. Shortly after the incident, Area Central Detectives identified Faramarz Bakhshi, as a “person of interest” but he had fled Illinois. Detectives diligently continued the investigation and were ultimately able to locate the offender in California. He was subsequently extradited and charged with the above offenses.
Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing
Andre Brown was arrested after he was identified as the man who fatally stabbed a 54 year old female on January 5, 2015, in the 3500 block of W. 77th Place at approximately 9:45 p.m. The victim was stabbed in the chest and the neck in a domestic related altercation. She was pronounced on the scene. Brown was charged accordingly.
Suburban Man Charged after Striking a Police Officer with a Vehicle
The above offender was arrested and charged with the above offenses after he intentionally struck a Chicago Police Officer with a stolen vehicle on January 1, 2015, at approximately 2:35 pm on the 6000 block of South Wolcott. Englewood (007th) District officers observed two male offenders in a stolen van and activated their emergency equipment to curb the vehicle. The offender attempted to flee in the vehicle and struck a squad car. An officer then exited his vehicle, and during this time, the offender accelerated and intentionally struck the officer with the van. The offenders fled on foot and after a short foot chase the above offender was apprehended and taken into custody. The officer was transported to Little Company of Mary hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The second offender is still being sought in connection to this incident.
Cab Driver Charged in November 2014 Sexual Assault
Fohounhedo was arrested on December 28, 2014 after being identified as the offender in an incident that occurred on the 2600 block of W. Lawrence Ave. on November 16, 2014 approximately between 3:00a.m. and 4:00a.m. The 22-year-old female victim ordered a taxi and while inside that vehicle was sexually abused. The offender relocated the victim to the 2600 block of W. Lawrence where she was sexually assaulted. The victim later received treatment at Swedish Covenant Hospital. Fohounhedo was charged accordingly.
Offender Charged with Assaulting Officers and Others with Handgun
Freeman was arrested after citizens approached Fifth District Officers stating that a man had pointed a weapon at them. Officers located the offender in a vehicle and observed him holding a weapon in his hand, which the offender then pointed at officers. Officers then were able to place Freeman into custody and recover the weapon without incident. Freeman was then charged accordingly.

Offender Charged with UUW and Making Threats
Woodfin was placed into custody as a target of a search warrant which found him to be in possession of an illegal firearm. Woodfin was also identified for making threats against police officers and children. Woodfin was placed into custody and charged accordingly.
Three Men Charged in Armed Robbery
On December 28, 2014, at approximately 2:50 am, officers were flagged down by a victim of an armed robbery. The officers then observed the wanted vehicle on I-290 had crashed into the embankment at Polk. Irving, Merrill and Brown were placed into custody. Proceeds from the robbery were recovered and there were no injuries reported.
Two Men Charged in Fatal Shooting
On December 26, 2014, in the 300 Block of E. 47th St. officers responded to a call of shots fired. As responding officers neared the location concerned citizens gave detailed information about Monroe and Rogers. Monroe and Rogers were located and placed into custody. During this time a victim was discovered with several gun shot wounds to the chest and leg. The victim was later pronounced at Stroger hospital.
