This alert gives notice to the residents of the 010th District (Ogden) of an Aggravated Battery with a Firearm which occurred on the 2200 block of S. Marshall Blvd on April 10th, 2016 at approximately 1:00 A.M.  The victim was inside his parked vehicle when the offender approached on foot and fired several gunshots striking the victim before fleeing southbound on foot.

Morales and the juvenile were arrested after being identified as the offenders who fatally shot an 18-year-old man on November 28, 2014, at approximately 11 p.m., in the 3600 block of W. 25th St. The offenders approached the victim on the street and engaged him in a conversation when one of the offenders produced a handgun and fired shots striking the victim under the right eye. About This Crime

On Tuesday, November 17th, 2015 at approximately 3:45 PM, a juvenile male was walking to an after school program when an unknown male approached him in the 3500 block of Ogden Ave. The unknown male then inappropriately grabbed the juvenile’s genitals and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

 

About the Offender

The offender is described as a black male approximately 25 years old, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and red/white gym shoes.

 

What You Can Do

  • If possible, ensure that children are escorted
  • Caution children to be alert for strangers
  • Instruct children to report any suspicious activity to an adult immediately

Area Central Detectives are seeking assistance in identifying a homicide suspect. On November 1, 2015 at approximately 8:34 a.m  on the 4000 block of West 31st St a 23 year old male sustained a gun shot in the chest after a male offender on foot fired a weapon before fleeing in a vehicle. The victim was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Superintendent Garry McCarthy today announced that the City is accepting applications to join the Chicago Police Department for the first time since  2013. The starting salary for Chicago police officers is $47,604 and increases to $72,510 after eighteen months of employment. The application period is now open, and will close at the end of the day on Wednesday December 16, 2015. A written exam will be administered in February 2016 to those who apply.
