Fuentes was arrested and charged with the above offense after she recanted her story of being the victim of a kidnapping.   Fuentes originally reported to Area Central detectives that on April 11, 2015, at approximately 8:30 am on the 2000 block of S. Pulaski, while standing at a bus stop a male approached her and struck her in the back head.  Fuentes stated that she was then dragged to a nearby abandoned building and held against her will by three male offenders until she was able to escape on April 14, 2015.  During the course of the investigation, Fuentes openly admitted to fabricating the story and was subsequently taken into custody and charged accordingly.  Charges for Veronica Fuentes

Jeffery Williams was arrested in connection to the accidental shooting of an 8-year-old boy on April 7, 2015, at approximately 10:45 am on the 3700 block of W. 13th St. The victim and another juvenile found a handgun inside the apartment, and while handling the firearm, the juvenile accidentally discharged the weapon and the victim was struck in the abdomen.    12Apr15 Charges for Jeffery Williams

On March 21, 2015, at approx. 6:00 p.m., the offender notified Chicago Police to report that his vehicle, a Dodge Grand Caravan, had been stolen. Officers responded to the 4300 block of W. Cullerton to investigate and complete a preliminary report and met with the offender. The offender, who possessed a CCL (Conceal Carry License) and FOID card, then left the area to search for his vehicle, armed with a handgun.

Chicago Police narcotics officers were able to intercept a shipment of narcotics that was being shipped into Chicago. From that delivery location, officers recovered a large quantity of narcotics, firearms, and over $95,000 in cash.

Narcotics Division officers conducted an investigation of a suspicious package that was received at a local shipping facility. A search warrant was executed on that package and it was found it to contain 614 grams of cannabis. The Package Team conducted a controlled delivery of that package to a recipient in the 2200 block of S. Kildare Ave.

On March 19th, 2015 at approximately 4:50 p.m., officers executed a delivery warrant on that same address. Inside the location, officers recovered two assault rifles with 100 round magazines, three additional assault rifles with 30 round magazines, one loaded 10mm auto pistol, one loaded 9mm auto pistol, one revolver, and a high power bolt action rifle with a scope. A large quantity of ammunition and two bullet proof vests were also discovered.

Also inside this residence was a large cache of narcotics that included 5,052 grams of powder cocaine, 557 grams of crack cocaine, 6,713 grams of tan heroin, 997 grams of black tar heroin and 726 grams of cannabis. The estimated street value of these narcotics total approximately $1,532,477.00. In addition, approximately $95,608.00 in cash was recovered.

Arrested during this incident was a 24 year old female – Lauren Henry, from the 2200 block of S. Kildare Ave.

About These Crimes:

This alert gives notice to residents of the 010th District (Ogden) of a Home Invasion / Attempt Criminal Sexual Assault that occurred on the 2900 Block of West 25th Street on the date of January 22nd, 2015 at the approximate time of 4:40 a.m. The below described offender entered a home through a window and attacked an adult female victim while threatening to sexually assault her. The offender fled the home after sleeping children were awoken and interrupted the assault.

The 007th District partnered with “Blessed Child Organization” this past weekend for their annual Toy Drive. Santa Claus, along with volunteers from Girl Scout Troop #27097, helped to pass out gifts and spread some holiday cheer to the children of Englewood and their families.

Enlace, The Flisk Family Foundation and 010th District Officers participated with generous gifts, food and entertainment for a successful event for all involved.

2 unknown males, white/hispanic. One wearing blue hooded jacket and glasses. Other male with long dark hair, multiple tattoos on his arms, wearing light colored baseball hat and sleeveless Lakers jersey with number “24” on it.

Vehicle:
Unknown make and model 4 door. Light silver or gray. Possibly Nissan.
