This alert gives notice to residents in the 012th District (Near West) of robbery related incidents, which have occurred during the month of April. In these incidents, the offender(s) approached the victim on foot and demanded their personal property. The offender(s) used physical force and threw unknown objects at the victims. The offender(s) then fled on foot.
06 May 19 - Community Alert - 12 District - Vehicular Hijacking_Motor Vehicle Theft
This alert gives notice in the 012th District (Near West) of a Vehicular Hijacking and Motor Vehicle Theft, which have occurred during the months of April and May on Beat 1223. In both incidents the victims exit their vehicles and the offender enters and drives away. In one incident a child was inside but was able to escape after the offender displayed a handgun.
5 Apr 19 - Community Alert CSA Robbery 1st and 12th District
This alert gives notice in the 001st & 012th Districts of robbery and criminal sexual abuse incidents which have occurred during the month of March on CTA property (Beats 113 & 1214). In the 001st District incident, the offenders and victim were at the Orange Line stop when the offenders followed the victim onto the elevator. After denying the offenders requests for money, the offenders began kissing the victim against her will and one offender made contact with the victim’s genital area. The offenders fled the scene. In the 012th District incident, an offender and two victims were on the Green Line train when the offender requested food. After giving the offender food, he touched the victim’s genital area, took the victim’s cell phone, and fled the train.

In these incidents, the victims attempt to purchase items from “Offer Up” at a pre-arranged location. As the victim waits, offenders approach, display handguns, and take proceeds.
31 Mar 19 - Robberies 12th District
This alert gives notice in the 012th District (Near West) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of March on Beat 1211. In these incidents, the offenders are driving in alleys when they approach the victims either in or near their personal vehicles. The offenders exit their vehicles, approach the victims, display handguns, demands property, re-enters their vehicles, and flee the scene.
25 FEB 19-Community Alert - 12th District (Near West) -Wanted for Attempt Armed Robbery JC-144803 NPOn February 8, 2019, at approximately 1:10 p.m., in the 2300 block of West Chicago Ave., the person pictured above was involved in an attempt armed robbery. The individual entered the business and started a conversation with the employee before delivering a note stating that she was armed with a gun and demanded property. She then fled west possibly on a CTA bus. The offender frequents the area of District 11 and District 12.
09 feb 19 - Community Alert Burglary to Auto (012)
This alert gives notice in the 012th District (Near West) of theft related incidents which have occurred during the months of January and February on Beat 1214. In these incidents, the offender(s) are targeting parked vehicles with bags and electronics in plain sight. The offender(s) enter by breaking a window. Taken were computers, backpacks, and various personal items.
09 Feb 19 - Business Alert Commerical Business Burglary 012
This alert gives notice to businesses operating in the 012th District (Near West) of burglary related incidents which have occurred during the month of January on Beat 1224. In these incidents, an offender forcefully enters commercial businesses through a window and steals merchandise from inside.
