Community Alert for Burglaries in the 19th District (Town Hall)
Joseph Benson, 23, was arrested and charged after an incident which occurred on March 7, 2015 at approximately 2:00 a.m. on the 2600 block of N. Mildred Avenue. Police responded to a disturbance and arrived to discover the offender had forced his way into a residence and attacked a 41-year-old male victim while purporting to be a police officer. Benson was placed into custody and charged accordingly.
About the Crime:
Robberies of businesses have occurred where the offender enters and demands
money from the cash register while armed with a small revolver.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in District 019 of recent burglaries taking place during afternoon hours on January 14th and 22nd. The offenders entered by forcing entry through the rear doors.
About the Crime:
This alert addresses several strong arm robberies that have occurred in the 019th District. In these robberies, victims are approached by a male white offender and a male Hispanic or black offender yelling gang slogans, are struck and have their property taken.
The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Town Hall (19th) District. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 25th, 2015.
