Marcus Jones was arrested on May 7th, 2015 at approximately 1:37 a.m. in the 1500 Block of W. Morse Ave. Officers responded to a burglary in progress call and located Marcus Jones inside. Jones had a shopping cart filled with various pieces of office equipment and was in possession of a pry bar. Jones was arrested and charged accordingly. Further investigation by Area North Detectives revealed Marcus Jones to be the man wanted in connection with several condominium burglaries in the area. A Community Alert with his photo was sent out on April 29, 2015. Jones has been charged accordingly in several of these incidents. Detectives continue to investigate other possible victims. Marcus Jones appeared in Central Bond Court on May 8, 2015. No further information is available at this time.

Robberies have occurred where the offender solicits a ride and then robs the driver at knifepoint after reaching the requested location.

Burglaries
This alert gives notice to the residents of the 20th District (Lincoln) of several recent
residential burglaries that have occurred. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have
entered apartments and residences through doors, by force or unlawful entry. Items taken
include electronics, jewelry, cash, and other miscellaneous items.

Detectives Ask for Help in Identifying Owners of Stolen Property
During a recent investigation into a string of burglaries committed in the 19th (Town Hall) and 20th (Lincoln) Districts, Chicago Police recovered numerous unclaimed items, all believed to be stolen, including cameras, laptops and jewelry.
On Friday, December 5th, 2014, Area North Detectives invited the public to view, identify, and claim their stolen property. However, several items remain unclaimed and Area North detectives continue to seek their rightful owners.
