Community Alert – Armed Robberies – 017th , 020th and 024th Districts
This alert gives notice to residents of the 017th, 020th and 024th District of eight Robberies that occurred in the late evening to early morning hours of December 2015. The Robberies occurred on the sidewalk, alley and streets. Multiple offenders exited a vehicle and approached the victim and displayed a handgun and demanded property.

Mayor Emanuel, Superintendent McCarthy Launch Police Recruitment Campaign
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Superintendent Garry McCarthy today announced that the City is accepting applications to join the Chicago Police Department for the first time since 2013. The starting salary for Chicago police officers is $47,604 and increases to $72,510 after eighteen months of employment. The application period is now open, and will close at the end of the day on Wednesday December 16, 2015. A written exam will be administered in February 2016 to those who apply.
Business Alert – Robbery–Aggravated – 019th and 020th Districts
Bank Robberies have recently occurred in the 19th and 20th Districts. In these incidents a female offender robbed a bank located inside a grocery store. The offender presented a demand note and stated that she had a lookout. As of the latest bank robbery no weapon had been displayed.
Two Men Charged in Uptown Double Homicide
Michael Laster and Jonathon Thompson were arrested after they were identified as the men who shot and killed two men in the 5000 block of N. Winthrop on September 2, 2015 at approximately 2:15 a.m. Responding officers discovered two unresponsive males, ages 32 and 34. Both victims were taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Both men were later pronounced. Laster and Thompson were charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.

Community Alert – Strong Armed Robberies
This alert gives notice to residents of the 20th District (Lincoln) of three Robberies occurring at the end of June and beginning of July 2015. In each of the Robberies, the offender(s) approached the victims from behind, knocking them to the ground before taking the victims’ jewelry and wallets. All of the Robberies occurred during the day on the sidewalk.
Wanted for Commercial Burglaries in the 20th District
This alert gives notice to the Business Owners of the 20th District (Lincoln) of several recent commercial burglaries that have occurred. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered business through doors or windows by force using a pry tool or blunt object. Items taken include cash, cash registers, cigarettes, batteries and other miscellaneous items.

There have been nine incidents that have occurred since April 1, 2015. These incidents have taken place, within the boundaries of Sheridan to Clark and Gunnison to Peterson, during the late PM hours to the early AM hours.
