Rockford Man Charged with Manslaughter in Murder of 11-Year-Old
Wilford was charged with the above offense after he accidentally shot a family member while handling a gun on September 2, 2015, in the 7400 block of S. St. Lawrence at approximately 9:00 pm. The victim, an 11-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to University of Chicago Comer Hospital where he was pronounced.

Jamal D. Joiner was arrested in connection to a murder that occurred on the 1000 block of North Springfield Ave at approx. 10:50 pm on April 17, 2015.

South Side Man Charged after Striking Juvenile with Vehicle
Davis was arrested and charged after he was identified as the offender who, on July 2nd, 2015 at approximately 5:25 pm, drove a vehicle across a sports field located on the 1800 block of E. 76th Street, striking a 10 year old male juvenile in the process.

CPD Community Alert: Wanted for Attempt Luring in the 3rd District (Grand Crossing)
About the crime:
On June 18, 2015 at approximately 8:00 AM, at 60th and Rhodes, a 14 year old female was walking to school when an unknown male and unknown female attempted to lure her into their vehicle. They pulled alongside the female and asked her if she wanted a ride. She refused and immediately informed a school crossing guard. The offenders fled when they observed the victim approached the crossing guard.
About the offender(s):
- Offender #1 (Driver) is described as a female black.
- Approximately 30 years of age, long hair, medium complexion.
- Last seen wearing a light blue Nursing Scrub Top.
- Offender #2 (Passenger) is described as male black
- Approximately 35 years of age, light complexion.
- Last seen wearing Black Scarf “Do-Rag”, Black Sweater
South Shore Man Charged in Kenwood Murder
Arieus Fitch, 20 was arrested after he was identified as the man who shot 2 juveniles, fatally wounding one. This incident occurred on May 24, 2015 at approximately 8:20 p.m. in the 4400 block of S. Cottage Grove Ave. Two male, ages 14 and 15, were walking outside when shots were fired at them from a passing light colored sedan. The 15 year old male sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the back and was pronounced on the scene. The 14 year old male was taken to the University of Chicago with a gunshot wound to the ankle. Fitch was identified as the shooter and charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.

Community Alert Wanted for Attempt Luring 003rd District
3rd district Attempt Luring _HY283594_On June 1, 2015, at approximately 6:20 AM, in the 7200 block of S. Stony Island Ave, two (2) unknown black males attempted to lure a14 year old female into their vehicle. The female youth refused and ran away. After following the youth a short distance the vehicle drove off in unknown direction. The female youth ran home and informed her mother who called police.
