The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the South Chicago (4th) District at Brainard & Baltimore. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2016 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016.
During roadside safety checks, police officers slow down traffic, stop cars at regular intervals and watch for drivers who show signs of alcohol impairment and other violations as noted below.

In each incident, the victims were either riding a CTA bus or had just exited a CTA Bus when they were approached by the offender(s) who battered and robbed them.
This alert gives notice to residents of the South Chicago (004th) District of two recent armed robberies involving similarly described offenders. In each incident, the victims were approached by two to three armed offenders and robbed. The locations and times of occurrence are as follows:
7700 block of South Essex Avenue on June 26, 2016 at approximately 12:35 a.m.
7700 block of South Euclid Avenue on July 4, 2016 at approximately 1:00 p.m.
On June 26, 2016 two females were walking on the 8400 block of South Stony Island Avenue at approximately 3:40 a.m. when an unknown male approached and engaged the females in conversation. The offender continued to follow the victims as they walked away. The females proceeded to enter their vehicle at which time the offender produced a firearm. The offender entered the vehicle and ordered the victims to drive to an unspecified location where he then forced them to perform sexual acts.
