The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the South Chicago (4th) District at Brainard and Baltimore Ave. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30th, 2015.
Escapee Kamron Taylor was taken into custody by Chicago Police in the 9200 block of S. Harper Ave. On April 3, 2015, at approximately 9:00 pm, 004th District officers responded to a call of a suspicious person, as the officers approached, Taylor fled on foot. Officers apprehended him a short distance away and recovered a loaded .38 caliber revolver. Taylor has been charged accordingly and will be turned over to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department at a later time to face local charges. Monte Williams was arrested after he was identified as the man who shot two people in 9500 block of S. Oglesby Ave. on August 31, 2014 at approximately 9:15 p.m. The 51 year old male victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and the 27 year old female victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm. Both victims were taken to Christ hospital for treatment. No further information available at this time.

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the South Chicago (4th) District. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10th, 2015.
The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.
