This alert gives notice to citizens of the 004th District (South Chicago) of two armed robberies reported in the 8000 block of South Coles. In each incident, the victims, all of whom were lawn care professionals, were robbed by armed offenders.

This alert gives notice to citizens of the 004th District (South Chicago) of two armed robberies which have occurred in the area extending from Dobson Avenue east to Greenwood Avenue, between 91st and 92nd Street. In each incident, the victims were seated in their vehicles when the offenders approached, produced a chrome or silver plated firearm, and robbed the victims of their valuables.

Community Alert – Wanted for Residential Burglaries – 004th District (South Chicago)
This alert gives notice to citizens of the 004th District (South Chicago) an increase in reported residential burglaries. During the month of August, six residential burglaries were reported in the area extending from East End Ave and Constance between 76th and 79th Street. In each of these incidents, the offenders gained access to the residence via a side or rear window.

Business Alert – Wanted for Commercial Burglaries – 004th District (South Chicago)
This alert gives notice to citizens of the 004th District (South Chicago) of seven, potentially related commercial burglaries which have been reported this year. The incidents have primarily occurred at retail establishments along Ewing Avenue between 94th and 106th Street. The burglaries were first reported in January with the most recent having occurred on 18 August. In each incident, the offenders made forced entry into the locations by shattering either the windows or doors. Once inside, currency was removed from the registers and change jars.
South Side Man Charged in Death of 13-Month-Old Child
An offender was arrested in connection to the death of a 13-month-old child on July 11, 2015. Officers observed Watkins in a vehicle fitting the description of a wanted offender’s vehicle from a fatal shooting that occurred on the 7700 block of S. Kingston Ave. at approx. 1:45 pm on the above date. Watkins then fled in the vehicle and struck a 13-month-old male, who was in a stroller on the sidewalk, in the 6300 block of S. South Side Man Charged after Striking Juvenile with Vehicle
Davis was arrested and charged after he was identified as the offender who, on July 2nd, 2015 at approximately 5:25 pm, drove a vehicle across a sports field located on the 1800 block of E. 76th Street, striking a 10 year old male juvenile in the process.

East Side Man Charged with Multiple Counts of Animal Crimes
The Chicago Police Department’s Animal Crimes Team, executed a dog fighting related search warrant on Juan Zamora’s residence on June 4, 2015 at approximately 11:45 a.m. Officers recovered 10 pit bull dogs that were living in deplorable conditions. The animals were turned over to Animal Care and Control for treatment. Zamora, 49 was not on scene during the search warrant and turned himself in to CPD on June 8, 2015. Zamora was charged accordingly.
