CPD Charge Release – South Side Man Charged with Animal Cruelty
4Feb16 Charges for Leon TeagueTeague was arrested after he was identified as the person who deliberately
scalded a cat with a hot liquid. A video of the incident was posted on
Facebook on February 2, 2016, approximately 10:00 p.m. showing Teague
luring a cat onto a rear porch and pouring boiling water onto the cat. The
Chicago Police Department Animal Crimes team along with the Cook County
Sheriffs Department were able to gather information through the course of the
investigation which identified Teague as the offender. Teague was charged
accordingly. No further information is available at this time.
East Side Man Charged with Multiple Counts of Animal Crimes
The Chicago Police Department’s Animal Crimes Team, executed a dog fighting related search warrant on Juan Zamora’s residence on June 4, 2015 at approximately 11:45 a.m. Officers recovered 10 pit bull dogs that were living in deplorable conditions. The animals were turned over to Animal Care and Control for treatment. Zamora, 49 was not on scene during the search warrant and turned himself in to CPD on June 8, 2015. Zamora was charged accordingly.
