This alert gives notice to the Business Owners of the 20th District (Lincoln) of several recent commercial burglaries that have occurred. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered business through doors or windows by force using a pry tool or blunt object. Items taken include cash, cash registers, cigarettes, batteries and other miscellaneous items.

Incident times and locations:

There have been nine incidents that have occurred since April 1, 2015. These incidents have taken place, within the boundaries of Sheridan to Clark and Gunnison to Peterson, during the late PM hours to the early AM hours.

  •  5000 block of N. Sheridan on April 1, 2015, at 3:00 AM
  • 5300 block of N. Broadway on April 2, 2015, at 3:00 AM
  • 5200 block of N. Broadway on April 11, 2015 at 3:15 AM
  • 1600 block of W. Foster on April 13, 2015 at 3:00 AM
  • 5400 block of N. Broadway on April 17, 2015 at 10:15 PM
  • 5200 block of N. Broadway on 2 May, 2015 at 3:45 AM
  • 5800 block of N. Broadway on 3 May 2015 at 12:00 AM
  • 5200 block of N. Clark on 5 May 2015 at 6:15 AM
  • 5700 block of N. Broadway on 10 May 2015 1:00 AM

Marcus Jones was arrested on May 7th, 2015 at approximately 1:37 a.m. in the 1500 Block of W. Morse Ave. Officers responded to a burglary in progress call and located Marcus Jones inside. Jones had a shopping cart filled with various pieces of office equipment and was in possession of a pry bar. Jones was arrested and charged accordingly. Further investigation by Area North Detectives revealed Marcus Jones to be the man wanted in connection with several condominium burglaries in the area. A Community Alert with his photo was sent out on April 29, 2015. Jones has been charged accordingly in several of these incidents. Detectives continue to investigate other possible victims. Marcus Jones appeared in Central Bond Court on May 8, 2015. No further information is available at this time.

This alert gives notice to the businesses in the 16th District (Jefferson Park) of armed robberies of food delivery drivers. In these incidents, the male drivers were making a food delivery when approached by unknown offenders who robbed them at gunpoint before fleeing.

Incident times and locations:

There have been two incidents since April 25, 2015 on beats 1613 and 1624.

4100 block of N. Marmora on April 25, 2015 at 12:22 AM

4900 block of N. Normandy on May 03, 2015 at 1:50 AM

About the offenders:

  • 4100 block of N. Marmora – Three offenders, offender #1 described as a Male, Hispanic, 18-25 years, 5’08”, 150-180 lbs.
  • 4900 N. Normandy – Possibly 1-5 offenders, wearing dark sweatshirts and bandanas.

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 009th District (Deering) of armed robbery/vehicular hijacking incidents which have occurred during the months of April. In these incidents, one to three offenders approach victims, display a handgun and demand their property and/or their vehicle. Incident times and locations are listed below:
• 5100 Block of South California on April 10, 2015 at 12:30 AM.
• 5300 Block of South Mozart on April 25, 2015 at 11:30 PM.

About the Offenders:
Offenders are described as:
Male, Hispanics, 18-30 years of age, 140-160lbs., medium complexion

This alert addresses street Robberies that have occurred in the 014th District. There have been two robberies in the area of Milwaukee/Division/Ashland, in which two offenders display a handgun or knife and take the victim’s money.

Incident times and locations:

  • 1200 block of N. Bosworth on April 12, 2015 at 4:30 am.
  • 1200 block of N. Ashland on April 26, 2015 at 12:45 am.

Offender’s description

  • Both offenders are described as being male black, 35 – 40 years of age, approximately 6’02” tall and weighing 250 lbs.

Area North Detectives are for assistance from the public to help identify the above subject. He is wanted in connection with burglaries from several condo buildings. Once the suspect gained access to the building and/or parking garage, he would burglaries vehicles and take other items that include mail, and bicycles. There are 15 separate victims involving RD# HY-187630. He is observed using some kind of pry tool to enter through the lobby doors. The suspect has also been seen with a shopping cart during these incidents.

Offender’s description:

The subject can be described as a heavy set male black with a bald head and a mustache and has been seen wearing a hoody.

This alert gives notice to the citizens of robberies that have occurred in the 016th District. In these incidents, 1-2 unknown offender(s) approach a victim from behind, demand property and forcibly

  • Offender #1 is described as being a male black, 25 years of age, 6’00 tall, 180-200 lbs., wearing a blue sweatshirt and black pants.
  • Other offenders are described as being male black, 5’07-6’00 tall; 180 lbs.

These incidents have occurred on beat 1634 within the boundaries of Cicero to Long and Belmont to Irving Park Road as listed below:

    •  5300 block of W. Patterson on March 31 2015 at 11:50 PM
    • 5100 block of W. Grace on April 10, 2015 at 12:15 AM
    • 3900 block of N. Long on April 19, 2015 at 6:20 AM
