This alert gives notice of recent Armed Robberies that have occurred in the 14th, 17th and 19th Districts. In these robberies, the victims (taxi drivers) pick up the offender as a fare and once at the destination, the offender announces a robbery by placing the victims in a headlock, placing what the victim believed to be a handgun to their head demanding money in two instances and producing a large knife in the other. On the last incident the offender stabbed the victim in the torso. The offender then takes money and cellphones from the victims. For More Information Click Here

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to recent Armed Robberies that occurred in the 14th, 17th and
19th Districts. In these robberies, the victims (taxi drivers) picked up the offender as
a fare and once at the destination the offender announced a robbery by placing the
victims in a headlock and placing what the victim believed to be a handgun to their
head demanding money in two instances and producing a large knife in the other.
The offender took money and cellphones from the victims.
Incident times and locations:
• 2000 block of W. Webster on April 14, 2017 at 1:25am.
• 3500 block of W. Melrose on April 14, 2017 at 3:00am and 3:20am.
• 3700 block of N. Clark on April 15, 2017 at 1:20am.
About the Offender:
• The offender is described as a male Hispanic, 5’07 – 5’09, 150 – 160 pounds,
clean shaven, wearing a black baseball cap, black hooded sweatshirt, and blue
jeans
What you can do:
• Be aware of this crime and alert your neighbors.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious people loitering in the area.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s)
including any vehicle description and license plate information.

15 Apr 17- 24th District Residential Burglaries (P17-N-091CA)

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to the residents of the 24th District (Rogers Park) of apartment
and residential burglaries that have occurred. In these incidents, unknown
offender(s) have entered apartments and residences, through the front door, while
the occupants are present. Money, credit cards, keys, and other miscellaneous
items were taken.
Incident times and locations:
• 2400 block of W. Morse Ave. on March 29, 2017 at 10:55 PM
• 6800 block of N. Kedzie Ave. on April 04, 2017 at 7:10 PM
About the Offender:
In one of the incidents the Offender was described as being an Unknown Male, ‘507-
5’10, 140-170 lbs., wearing black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
What you can do:
• Be aware of this crime and alert nearby areas.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious people or vehicles loitering in the area.
• Have and maintain a working surveillance system.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s)
including any vehicle description and license plate information.

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 12th District (Near West) of Motor Vehicle Theft related incidents which have occurred during the month of April. During these incidents, the offenders rear-ended the victim’s vehicles while in traffic. Once the victim exited their vehicle to assess the situation/damage, a second offender entered the victim’s driver side door and fled with the vehicle.

This alert gives notice of two recent Armed Robberies of pizza delivery drivers within the boundaries of the 15th District (Austin). In these robberies, one or two offenders rob the victims at gunpoint before or after making a pizza delivery. For more information, click here.

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 9th District (Deering) of burglary
incidents that occurred during the month of April. In these incidents, offender(s)
gained entry by force into residences and took property from therein. These
incidents have occurred at various hours of the day in the general geographical
locations listed below:
Incident times and locations:
• 2800 Block of South Throop Street on April 4, 2017 at 9:30AM.
• 2600 Block of South Loomis Street on April 6, 2017 between the hours of
11:30PM and 10:00PM.
• 2900 Block of South Elias Court on April 6, 2017 between the hours of
9:20PM and 8:40PM.
What you can do:
• Keep the perimeter of your property well lit
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• Keep doors and windows secured
• Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks
• If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for
investigating detectives.
• If you are a victim do not touch anything, call police immediately
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
