07 jul 18- Community Alert- 3rd District Robberies P18-1-196CAThis alert gives notice to citizens in the 3rd District (Grand Crossing) of robbery related incidents which have occurred during the month of July. In these incidents, the offender approached the victims from behind and demanded property. In one incident, the offender produced a black handgun and then fled the area in a white SUV.
05 JuL 18 - 005th District- Community Alert- Attempt Abduction kidnapping
On July 5, 2018 at approximately 9:05am, a male black offender drove past a 16 year old female, blew his horn and circled the block in an effort to get the 16 year old girl’s attention. This is the third occurrence of the incident. The same vehicle and driver drove past the 16 year old girl and blew the horn and stared at her on June 26, 2018, and June 28, 2018.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 009th District (Deering) of burglary incidents which have occurred during the month of June. In these incidents, offender(s) gain entry by force into residences/garages and take property from therein. These incidents have occurred at various hours of the day in the general geographical locations listed below:
On Tuesday July 3rd, 2018 at approximately 7:59 p.m., 11th District Tactical
Officers were responding to a person with a gun call in the 4700 block of West Fulton St. when
they were confronted by an armed offender. Officers fired shots at the offender striking him.
The offender was transported to Stroger Hospital where he was later pronounced. A weapon
was recovered at the scene.
On Monday, July 2nd, 2018 shortly after 9:30 PM, a 4th District Officer was sitting
in the parking lot of a dollar store inside a marked vehicle in between calls. An armed offender
approached the officer in his car at which point the officer was able to retrieve his weapon and
shoot the offender. A weapon was recovered at the scene and the offender has been
transported to a local hospital where he is in serious condition.
