14 JUL 2018 - Police Involved Shooting - 2000 block of East 71st St
On Saturday July 14, 2018 at approximately 5:31 p.m., 3rd District Police Officers were on foot patrol in the vicinity of the 2000 block of East 71st St. The officers approached a male subject exhibiting characteristics of an armed person, when an armed confrontation ensued resulting in an officer discharging his weapon and fatally striking the offender. The offender was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced.  A weapon was recovered at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

14 JUL 18 - 4th District Arson Fire P18-2-058 NP

This alert gives notice to the residents in the 4th District of fire related incidents that have occurred in the alley ways on Beat 433. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) ignited available materials contained within the garbage cans and/or bulk items left in the alley. In some cases the fire communicated to the garages. These incidents have occurred at the times and geographical locations listed below:

10 Jul 18 12th District P18-1-204CA Hijacking in 012 CA
This alert gives notice to residents of the 012th District (Near West) of recently reported aggravated vehicular hijackings on beats 1214 and 1232.  In one incident a valet driver was parking a vehicle when he was approached by two offenders who displayed handguns, struck the victim, took the victim’s phone, and stole the vehicle.  In the other incident, the victim parked a car and was approached by 5 offenders.  One displayed a handgun; all entered the vehicle and fled the scene.

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 1st District of robbery related incidents which have occurred during the month of July.  In these incidents the offender who was in a wheelchair approached the citizen(s) on the public way and asked for change or cigarettes. As the citizen(s) complied, other offenders then attacked the citizen(s) and took personal property. These incidents have occurred during the morning hours in the general geographical locations listed below:

08 Jul 18 - Robberies 10th District P18-1-201CA Robbery
This alert gives notice in the 010th District (Ogden) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of July.  In these incidents, victim(s) are approached by offender(s) displaying handgun and demand or take property from the victim(s) before fleeing the area in a vehicle described as a gray Dodge Caravan.
