On November 13, 2016 at 4:11 p.m. a vehicle was turning southbound on Central Ave. from Giddings St. in the 016th District when it struck two pedestrians in the crosswalk. A 2-year-old male sustained severe injuries and was pronounced on scene. A 39-year-old female sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Lutheran General Hospital. Chicago Police Detectives are seeking any and all information about this incident.

On October 24, 2016 at approximately 4:00 a.m., the female, 37, was walking to the blue-line train stop through a parking garage located in the 8400 block of W. Bryn Mawr Avenue. As the she was walking, she noticed a male subject inside the parking garage. The male approached the female from behind and knocked her to the ground. The offender demanded the victim remove her clothing. The victim struggled with the offender and was able flee to safety. The offender fled southbound from the parking lot. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered apartments and residences, through doors and windows. The offenders have taken electronics, jewelry, cash, and other miscellaneous items. There have been three Commercial Robberies in the 16th District. In these cases, a male offender enters the business, displays a knife and demands money from the register.

In these incidents, unknown offender(s) gain entry by forcibly kicking or prying open the front door and windows. Offender(s) then take jewelry, cash and copper pipes.

In these incidents, unknown offender(s) gained entry by forcibly kicking or prying open the side door(s) or entering the garages through unlocked doors. Offender(s) then removed construction tools, lawn equipment, air compressors, fishing equipment and USC.

About This Crime

On September 14, 2016, at approximately 5:40 p.m., the 13-year-old female juvenile victim was riding her bike on the 5200 block of North Northwest Highway when she noticed a parked white wan and the unknown male driver standing outside his vehicle door.

There have been three recent Commercial Robberies in the 16th and 17th District. In these cases a male offender entered the business, displayed a Chrome/Silver handgun and demanded money from the register.
