Area Central Detectives are seeking assistance in identifying a homicide suspect. On November 1, 2015 at approximately 8:34 a.m  on the 4000 block of West 31st St a 23 year old male sustained a gun shot in the chest after a male offender on foot fired a weapon before fleeing in a vehicle. The victim was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced.

Jason Hooks was arrested after he was identified as the person who criminally sexual assaulted a 31 year old female victim on November 14, 2015 at approximately 3:00 a.m., prompting a Community Alert to be issued. This incident occurred on the 600 block of S. Plymouth Court. After the female victim exited the CTA Redline stop at Harrison and State the offender followed her, struck her with a blunt object, and forced her to a secluded area where he sexually  assaulted her. The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment. No further information is available at this time.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 001st District of a recent Criminal Sexual Assault. On November 14, 2015, between the hours of 3:00-3:35 a.m., a 31 year old female victim exited the CTA Redline at Harrison and State and was followed by an unknown male offender. The victim was walking southbound in the 600 block of South Plymouth Court when the offender grabbed the victim and struck her with a blunt object. He then forced the victim to a secluded area where he sexually assaulted her. The offender took the victim’s purse and fled in an unknown direction.

Description of offender:

  • Male black
  • 20-27 years of age
  • 5’08” to 5’10” tall; 145 to 180 lbs.
  • Brown eyes, Light complexion
  • Short hair style
  • Black leather jacket, black hoody, Chicago White Sox baseball cap, light colored blue jeans with white gym shoes

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 012th District of robbery related incidents that have occurred in the 12th District during the month of November.  In these incidents, two offenders approach the victim on the street and rob the victim of personal property by either knocking the victim down or implying he has a gun. Incident times and locations are listed below:

  • 600 block of North Ashland on Nov 03, 2015 at approximately 1:00 A.M.
  • 800 block of North Paulina on Nov 05, 2015 at approximately 6:00 P.M.
  • 2700 block of West Washington on Nov 05, 2015 at approximately 7:00 P.M.

This alert gives notice to the residents in the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of Sex Offenses-Public Indecency incidents which have occurred during the month of November. In these incidents, the offender approached the 17-year-old female victims at the lip of the alley in his vehicle (possibly a newer 4-door Black Nissan) and exposed himself.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 009th District (Deering) of theft incidents that occurred during the month of November. In these incidents, offender(s) cut catalytic converters off of cars parked on the street. These incidents have occurred at various hours of the day.

This alert gives notice to small retail stores in the 009th District of recent armed robberies. One male black offender entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money from the registers.
