This alert gives notice to citizens in the 012th District of robbery related incidents that have occurred in the 12th District during the month of June. In these incidents, the offender approaches the victims on the street and forcibly takes their purse or backpack. Incident times and locations are listed below:

 

  • 1400 Block of West Walton on June 18, 2015 at approximately 11:00 P.M.
  • 1100 Block of North Wood on June 20, 2015 at approximately 3:00 A.M.

About the offender:

One male black wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt; 18-28 years of age; 130-170 lbs.; hair worn in dreadlocks.

About the crime:

On June 18, 2015 at approximately 8:00 AM, at 60th and Rhodes, a 14 year old female was walking to school when an unknown male and unknown female attempted to lure her into their vehicle. They pulled alongside the female and asked her if she wanted a ride. She refused and immediately informed a school crossing guard. The offenders fled when they observed the victim approached the crossing guard.

About the offender(s):

  • Offender #1 (Driver) is described as a female black.
  • Approximately 30 years of age, long hair, medium complexion.
  • Last seen wearing a light blue Nursing Scrub Top.
  • Offender #2 (Passenger) is described as male black
  • Approximately 35 years of age, light complexion.
  • Last seen wearing Black Scarf “Do-Rag”, Black Sweater

Arieus Fitch, 20 was arrested after he was identified as the man who shot 2 juveniles, fatally wounding one. This incident occurred on May 24, 2015 at approximately 8:20 p.m. in the 4400 block of S. Cottage Grove Ave. Two male, ages 14 and 15, were walking outside when shots were fired at them from a passing light colored sedan. The 15 year old male sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the back and was pronounced on the scene. The 14 year old male was taken to the University of Chicago with a gunshot wound to the ankle. Fitch was identified as the shooter and charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.

Michael Wims, Jr. was arrested in connection to a stabbing that occurred on June 10, 2015, at approx. 4:35 pm on the 200 block of S. Michigan Ave. During a verbal altercation with the 57-year-old male victim, Wims produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck.     12Jun15 Charges for Michael Wims Jr.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of burglary incidents which have occurred during the months of May and June. In these incidents, offender(s) gain entry into a residence through a door or window and take property from therein. These incidents have occurred in the geographical locations listed below:

Incident times and locations:

  • 3000 Block of W. 63rd Street on 31 May 2015 at approximately 3:30 P.M.
  • 6200 Block of S. Mozart Ave on 02 June 2015 at approximately 11:40 P.M.
  • 6300 Block of S. Whipple Ave on 07 June 2015 at approximately 7:15 P.M.
  • 6300 Block of S. Sacramento Ave on 09 June 2015 at approximately 9:30 P.M.

10th district Attempt Luring _HY287940_On June 3, 2015, at approximately 7:50 AM, on the 2600 block of W 21st Place a male Hispanic attempted to lure a 14 year old female into his vehicle. The Offender used his vehicle to block the youth’s path as she attempted to cross the street. At which time she ran away.

3rd district Attempt Luring _HY283594_On June 1, 2015, at approximately 6:20 AM, in the 7200 block of S. Stony Island Ave, two (2) unknown black males attempted to lure a14 year old female into their vehicle.  The female youth refused and ran away.  After following the youth a short distance the vehicle drove off in unknown direction.  The female youth ran home and informed her mother who called police.

001st District Burglary P15-1-123CA Burglary Alert[1]This alert gives notice to residents of the 001st District (Central) of an increase in burglary related incidents occurring during the month of May. An unknown offender entered a multi-unit condominium and went floor to floor, looking for unlocked residential units, with no occupants inside.  The offender entered the units and took electronic and personal items.

In these incidents, the offenders order a car service, produce a handgun, and demand the driver’s money and cellular phone. Incident times and locations are listed below:

  • 7100 Block of S. Bell Ave. on May 18, 2015 at approximately 7:40 P.M.
  • 6800 Block of S. Oakley Ave. on June 2, 2015 at approximately 3:20 A.M.

 

Offender descriptions vary, but are generally described as:

2 to 3 Male blacks, 16-23 years of age, 5’8″-5’9″, 150-180 lbs.
