On April 20, 2016, at approximately 6:35 p.m., two juveniles walked past the 6700 block of North Whipple (Chippewa Park) to retrieve a dodge ball that was between fences. An unknown female in the passenger seat of a black SUV type vehicle rolled down her window and said “hi kids, come over here, I have some candy”. This alarmed the juveniles who walked away quickly. The unknown woman was in the company of a young man who was the driver. After retrieving there ball, the juveniles returned past the 6700 block of North Whipple and upon seeing the vehicle and its occupants still parked, ran fast past said location to their residence and alerted the parents.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 011th District (Area North) of three

Armed Robberies that occurred in April. In all three incidents, the offenders

displayed handguns and demanded property from the victims.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 009th District (Deering) of garage burglary incidents which have occurred during the month of April. In these incidents, offender(s) gain entry into residential garages and take property from therein. These incidents have occurred at various hours of the day in the general geographical locations listed below:

Incident times and locations:

  • 4500 Block of South Sacramento on April 1, 2016 at 8:00 PM
  • 4200 Block of West Campbell on April 5, 2016 at 11:00 PM
  • 4100 Block of South Maplewood on April 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM
  • 4500 Block of South Western Avenue on April 7, 2016 at 9:30 PM
  • 200 Block of West 46th Place on April 10, 2016 at 11:30 PM
  • 4500 Block of South Albany on April 11, 2016 at 12:01 AM
  • 4500 Block of South Talman on April 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM
  • 4600 Block of South Whipple on April 14, 2016 at 6:00 PM
  • 3100 Block of West 42nd Street on April 23, 2016 at 9:00 AM

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 010th District (Ogden) of an Aggravated Battery with a Firearm which occurred on the 2200 block of S. Marshall Blvd on April 10th, 2016 at approximately 1:00 A.M.  The victim was inside his parked vehicle when the offender approached on foot and fired several gunshots striking the victim before fleeing southbound on foot.

This alert gives notice to businesses in the 015th District (Austin) of Burglary related incidents that have occurred in the months of March and April. In these incidents, an unknown offender(s) pried open the front/rear door of the business and removed electronic items and cash. In one incident, the offender(s) disconnected the power to the business and attempted to pry open an ATM machine.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 15th District (Austin) of robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of April. In these incidents, a group of unknown offenders, approximately 16-20 years of age, approach victims as they are waiting at a bus stop, and either display a handgun or batter the victims and take their property (cell phones and USC).
